There is no such thing as the Bond curse or indeed any kind of curse in general, its superstitious pish. Typecasting yes but curse? No. Like Vadersville said, most of the Bond's have gone on to have very successful careers post 007, Connery in particular. Craig has done very well so far, considering he was well known before he took the role and is continuing to star in plenty of big films alongside his Bond parts and will almost certainly have a solid career once he leaves the part, despite what the CraigNotBond wankers would like to think.

As for Christopher Reeve, the fact that some would consider him a poor actor is fucking stupid and utterly ignorant to say the least. Just watch Superman I or II and watch the subtlety in how he plays the various incarnations of Kal-El to blow that dumb suggestion out of the water. And who seriously thinks Dean Cain was a good Superman? The man only had one mode - smug, that was it. I'm sorry but Kent is supposed to be an awkward dork, not some douche who's always smirking and raising his eyebrows as if that's the only facial expression he's capable of. At least Routh tried his best with the part he was given, it wasn't his fault it was the script and Singers insistence on aping Donners film.

There is no '' Bond Curse ''.Sean Connery went on to have a very successful movie career for many years after he retired from the role (not to mention winning an oscar in 1987 for The Untouchables).

Roger Moore had a very sucessful career before he became 007 and his semi retirement from acting after he finished his tenure as Bond was pretty much his own choice and he of course wanted to do much important work for Unicef.

Timothy Dalton is an actor who has said he felt that the stage was more his thing and i dont get the impression he ever wanted to be a '' movie star ''.He has of course done good screen work since in the likes of The Rocketeer and Hot Fuzz.

Pierce Brosnan had a successful tv career before Bond and did good work elsewhere on screen both during his 007 tenure andafter.He has in fact gotten even better roles since.His performances in the likes of The Matador and The Thomas Crown affair prove how good an actor he really is.And he also starred in one of the biggest hits of the last decade in Mamma Mia!

As for Lazenby....next!

Lazenby was also grossly unprofessional in his dealings with EON. My understanding is he was essentially blacklisted in Hollywood after the stunt he pulled.

He broke the news - on a live TV talk show - the week before the film opened. EON had no idea. He just casually dismissed Bond, said he didn't really like it, that he didn't think it had much of a future, and so he was leaving. After all the work EON had done to build him up, he ditched them before the movie even opened.

It's why if you look at official EON BOND materials, you'll almost never see a single shot of Lazenby. They hate that guy's guts.

I reckon Craig will keep getting better moving on from the Bond Role, It's looking like Skyfall will be his last? I really enjoyed Finchers TGWTDT and tho I thought Cowboys and Aliens was pretty forgettable (Jon Favreaus doing he's never directed anything worth mentioning) He still leaves hers mark of quality on the film. I still regard Layer Cake as one of my all time favourite movies it's terribly overlooked and Craig carries it brilliantly even surrounded by scene stealers like Colm Meaney and Dexter Fletcher. I think he'll find some great roles in the future and stay firmly at the top of directors wish list for leading roles.

He said he will keep going as long as he can: hoping to beat Moore's record! He is starting to look a little old-ish but am quite happy for him to stick with the role for 2-3 more films anyway

I hope he does, I know he's only done 2 movies but he is my favourite Bond since Connery. Quantum of Solace was pretty poor when compared to Casino Royale but his portrayal of the character was still great. I hope Sam Mendes can give us a movie that stands up to the quality Martin Campbell showed with CR. I think Craig still looks good for Bond, he's not too weathered lookin since CR, as long as he bows out before it starts to look silly. Brosnan in Die Another Day was pushing it, that beach bar scene with Halle Berry was cat, he could have passed for her aul lad, things went downhill rapidly from there. That said wasn't Roger Moore 97 when he did A View To A Kill?

Craig looks a lot older than he actually is.That face of his isnt going to age well.I think all this talk of him doing 8 movies is unrealistic to be honest and probably just a lot of PR for Skyfall.

Craig never once stated he wanted to do 8 movies, that was just typical tabloid exaggeration. What he really said was that he'd be happy to equal Moore's number and he'd stay as long as the producers wanted him. Craig wont stay forever but its likely there'll be one or two more films after Skyfall.

Just enough to piss off the Craig haters for a bit longer.

I really like Daniel Craig as Bond. He brings a completely different attitude to the character, in that he's not a "pretty boy", we all know that! Or perhaps as classically handsome as his predecessors but he has this great bad-ass, take no-shit edge about him and his face expresses that just right in his role as Bond. He is helping to open up Bond to a new audience/ generation, if you like and I remember in the interview also, as Spaldy stated above, that he said he'd be happy to stay as long as he was needed.

Long live Craig!

2 or 3 more after SF sounds perfect. Whatever about his craggy face: he is in top physical condition (steady on now) and even though QoS was a mess: Craig was still good in it. More, more more I say.

It was LAYERCAKE that first brought Craig to my attention (I'd seen him in other things, but with LAYERCAKE I was forced to sit up and take notice), and I have to agree that it's a fantastic film. I don't know how it's not more well known.

The ending is about as perfect as I've ever seen in a movie.. It *makes* the film, in many ways

"My name? If you knew that, you'd be as clever as me" ::blam!::

Throughout the film, it had been in the back of my mind that I didn't know Craig's character's name, but I never focused on it. To have him point it out at the end, breaking the fourth wall, so smugly satisfied with his own cleverness, only to ultimately be brought down because he wronged Sidney - of all people - over his girlfriend (when for most of the running time his main concern was getting beheaded by Dragun, or getting nicked by the cops) is just a wonderful irony

Think there is something to this althrough TGWTDT is a high profile film. For me it might take awhile to live down the 007 fame, but he is too good a actor not to pick up where things left off before it.

Given the chance Graig could become the greatest Bond ever, however I still think Dalton is the best actor to ever play him.
