Would that be a comment on the subject of the thread, or would that be a personal comment aimed at a post already dealt with and that doesn't now need to be picked at to apparently try and continue an argument?

Sorry but that trailer just fucked seeing it for me, a true spoiler. The plot looks too obvious now especially if you link it to events in Alien. Unless there's somehing I missed. I'd be mightily pissed off now if I was Ridley Scott.

With the exception of Fassbender's, the line's delivered in that trailer seem to be almost half-arsed.
Also, I have to agree it does seem very spoilery- too many events in the film are revealed. They could have asked the questions in the trailer without needing to provide answers and thus ruin some of the film's revelations.
I hate to say it, but I'm beginning to think that this might be largely disappointing given the almost biblical levels of hype its production and (potential) ideas have generated.

This trailer has no spoilers in it people. It tells me nothing I didn't know already from teasers/interview snippets. We already knew it would have to do with our origins, have a connection to the space jockey etc...I don't know what all the complaining is about.

I'm not fussed by any of the 'so-called' spoilers - this looks amazing! 2012 is shaping up to be a great movie year indeed!

Can't wait for prometheus, especially after seeing the new trailer for it. And it looks like one or most of the crew become that space jockey thing after being infected with something but will be interesting how it involves the xenomorph.

'Big things have small beginnings...' They said the same about Viagra. Looks good, Ridley Scott's magic eye hasn't deserted him, it's a beautiful-looking film. Question is, can he top what he did before with Alien? I'm cautiously optimistic. I've seen some great trailers that ending up being awful movies.

Ladies and Gents Apple has the HD version of the trailer and lets just say pause it at 00:01:35 or go on it frame by frame and you'll know your answer as to wether a Xenomorph is in it, Hint well it looks very much like the 1st Alien to me even though it's not moving and looks like its a statue but hell this year is shaping up to be like 1982 all over again.

Awesome. Just awesome. It's completely engaging and doesn't feel anything like the by-the-numbers deep space horrors that tried to copy the original Alien. As for 'spoilers', grow up! What did people expect - it's in space and there's going to be a deadly threat! I'm just proud that a British director can still bring something exciting and capturing to a stale genre that he was one of the first to turn on its head in the first place. I'll be first in the queue at Imax for this one...

Simply stunning! However, I feel that there was too much of the narrative given away in this trailer. I want to be overwhelmed by the images and surprised by every element of the narrative without the ad-man spoiling it for people who want to engage with material without a fisher-price-take-you-by-the-hand trailer!

Oh my god their are so many of these comments now that I cannot ignore any longer!!

How do you know that their are spoilers in the trailer?? Have you seen the film?? Do you know the entire plot line and story?? I'm willing to bet my penis that, much like most other people whom have winged about spoilers, you haven't. So what do you base your comment on?

It's a trailer for fecks sack; not the entire film....darghhhhh!! *throws hands up in the air, gulps tea, shakes head*

fyi; I think its a fantastic trailer - makes me desperate to see the film...want a trailer break down!!

Sooo excited by this movie - more so than any of the comic book movies that are coming out. Did anybody else see a statue of one of the Xenomorphs though? I guess Ridley just couldn't resist!

It could be like the Dark Knight trailer, where everyone assumed it showed the climactic final showdown between Batman and Joker on the streets of Gotham.
Only it didnt

But fantastic trailer, looking like the number 1 film of 2012

Going by the shots of Fassbender surrounded by the image of the galaxy, the android surely becomes the space jockey? As for the later image of a 'person in distress', it looks like Shaw with a medical implement holding a chest burster above her . . .

The trailer was amazing, genuinely so buzzed for the film. People that are complaining that it spoiled too much, how would you know without seeing the movie? Anyway, all that aside I wanted to address something that I'm not sure was deliberate or not. The final shot of the trailer, with the close up of Michael Fassbender delivering the line, 'big things have small beginnings' doesn't his mannerisms literally MIMICK Ian Holm in Alien before he goes beserk? Just a thought, but it looks so like him.

I think you just spoiled the whole fucking movie for me.
I think you might have breached like a security act of silence protocol- how?
If all the stuff you posted is true- and it probably is then I'm guessing that you must have worked on this film somehow either with the writing staff or with sir. ridley- I'm going to come to the conclusion you are not shitting us because this stuff you posted probably is true. So this film is really- probably going too fall into cliche territory for horror movies- lone survivor- shit ending- all the good guys die- even the comic relief- despite the massive hype the critics will fucking hate this.
You my friend if you simply predicted this and it turns out to be true then you are a genius.
Do me a favour and go and tell me if this film will be a 15- R rated- or NC 17- an 18 cause I wanna go see this.
If you just made this shit up then you are a creative genius but please can you tell me what happened to David- Fassbender cause I kind of lost track of him in the post.

The guy below me has possibly spoiled the whole fucking movie for the nerd community. Empire should fire him. From what he has said I'm guessing the movie despite the Hype will be shitty. Hopefully not though.

Don't worry good buddy's, I just took it of one of the many Prometheus plot websites, it's probably a load of twaddle. The same site said Ben foster and patrick wilson was in it too, and they aren't so that's the first sign it's garbage.

Not sure why you would post that anyway mclane? Seems a bit of a crappy thing to do. You don't even mark it up for potential spoilers.

It should have been marked Mcclane - even though it was fairly obvious anyone should stop reading it within a sentence or so.

I'm removing the posts as this is a completely inappropriate thread for them. Please check rules on spoilers before ever doing this again as spoilers at this level may be subject to formal site warnings.
