Are we talking pure action movies, or ones that technically belong to another genre but have a lot of action in them, so therefor qualify as action movies, too? For the moment I'll assume the former: In no particular order A Better Tomorrow 1 and 2 Lethal Weapon Martial Arts Of Shaolin Aliens (I believe this is more action movie than sci-fi movie) Top Gun Raiders Of The Lost Ark/Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade The Killer The Terminator/Terminator 2: Judgement Day (same deal as Aliens) Once Upon A Time In China Iron Monkey Blade Desperado/Once Upon A Time In Mexico Mission: Impossible 1, 2 and 3 Shiri Ronin True Romance Carlito's Way Speed Hard Boiled Face/Off Bullet In The Head Bad Boys The Bourne Identity/Supremacy/Ultimatum Ong-Bak Warrior King Merantau Die Hard/Die Hard 4 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Chocolate Infernal Affairs 1 and 2 Hero House Of Flying Daggers Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Ip Man 1 and 2 Bodyguards And Assassins The Man From Nowhere Salt 13 Assassins And then there's a bunch of Bond films... notably Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace. I like more Bond movies than that, but out of my favourites those are the ones with the most impressive action. If we're talking about the latter of my choices, there will be a lot of superhero movies and sci-fi/fantasy added to that list.
