the title purpose is just for you to click on it...

The post purpose: I really love cinema to watch I mean, but i've never actually did something. My question is, is our passion for watching movies enough to really make something, did anyone had the experience of liking cinema and then not doing cinema that well?

I think the question is whether anyone's loved watching films, but not been great at making them.

To which I can reply, well, I've never tried.

I don't think it's coolstar I think he's just French or something...

Anywho I suppose most film makers get in to it through the love of cinema. That doesn't mean their films will be any good

No, I would imagine you would need some training before you make the jump to being a director: go to film-school, make student shorts, start off doing menial jobs on film sets and whatnot. Although, if I understand it correctly, Quentin Tarantino didn't go through the normal channels in becoming a director, but that didn't stop him from making Reservoir Dogs...

You're not fucked up, sir.

Sometimes your posts are little bit hard to understand, but I think we should all know by now that English isn't your first language. And hey, at least you're trying to contribute something substantial to the forums. Keep it up, sir.

I've dabbled a few times, some weren't successful, one however came together very nicely. I think having a passion isn't enough on its own to make something great, but it's having the passion that gives you the motivation to keep doing it, and after time the skills you learn (both technical and creative) will allow you to make good films.

I guess if you didn't have the passion you just wouldn't do it though. Even the most workmanlike director-for-hire wouldn't do it if they didn't enjoy it.

Sorry filipe, not a personal quip. Rather a little throwback to a line said by someone else which blew up into long running hilarity. Stick around soon enough and you might see it show its face again
