Has anyone moved onto the specialisations yet? What's the deal with the non-LE buyers in the EU not getting access to them all?

I've not made it to a specialisation yet, though my flatmate is like, 2 levels away or something. My main problem with picking one is going to be that all the helmets look absolutely horrible.

They are awful, there's only about 2 or 3 in the whole list that are acceptable. Even though you choose a specialisation I don't think you have to wear that armour set, I'll stick with my Mk6.

Oh ok, well that's something. I assumed you had to otherwise why would anyone ever wear them, but I suppose its to show off that they are that high a level.

I'm on my second, did Rogue first and now I'm working on pioneer.

The XP you need for each level changes once you specialise.

Anyone else signed up for the Infinity Challenge?

I'm a fairly mediocre player but might as well give it a crack!

Not going to bother with the challenge as I'm even more useless than usual at this game. I'll have a quick look at the new maps but I'm really not that bothered with Halo 4 anymore.

I have to admit, it's not grabbed me the way Halo 3 did. I like it but I can't see myself playing it that much longer. There just seems to be something missing.

Joyous has dragged me onto this.

Main story

It's fine! Definitely bringing life to a new saga and making the story relevant. Though honestly this is the forth game and there truly should be more of an explanation for new comers. How about a data base of who everyone is etc? Not hard to put together. The ideas are good but its all just RECLAIMER, PROMETHEAN, DIADACT, CONVENANT, FORERUNNER ... blah blah blah. I've played all of the previous games and could have done with a recap.

Spartan Ops

I'm intrigued. Think it's a great idea. New video content series + game maps etc. Nice.

Multiplayer

Not dipped in yet ...

Anyone fancy blasting though this on Heroic for the achievement? Skip all cutscenes etc. Hopefully get 4 people in and fly through it?

There is a TA session going on Sat @ 7pm if you are up for that? I'm in.

EDIT: Crap. I'm a week ahead! Might make a new TA session now.

Just bought the game - looking forward to the single player. Might use my 14 day Gold Trial afterwards.

So I had 2000 points sitting in my account and seen the map packs were on offer for 1600 and bought them. What a mistake that was, this game is fucking awful.

Out of the first 3 games I played one went to a black screen/scoreboard, the second the lag made it almost unplayable and by the time I got to the third I had lost the will to live. Finding players for a game takes an age. Such a small player count in each hopper (if the numbers next to them are accurate).

A sad time for me to realise Halo isn't very good.

True, this game is a mess. It's going to take a miracle to get me interested in any more Halo games.

It's still my shooter of choice atm but I'm growing more and more disillusioned with it. The flaws mentioned here are really starting to wind me up.

As for the map packs. Good luck finding a game with the previous 2 packs, and good luck finding a game with any of the dlc maps in big team battle which is the game type I prefer. I've been playing the same 3 maps over and over again since launch with little variety.

Surprised to see so many negative comments here. I bloody loved Halo 4. Of course, I played it more for the single player campaign. Though I have to agree that it pisses me off so much when the playlist for the previous DLC disapears as soon as the next one is launched and then you seem to get the same three maps over and over again.

I started on Halo 4 last night. I've only played a really small part of the first level, but already I'm impressed with the visuals. It really is a good looking game.

I've played through the other Halo games, with the exception of Part 2, so I don't know the back-story inside out. Would it be advisible to watch the Forward Unto Dawn episodes on Youtube before I play anymore of Halo 4?

Nah, just wiki the story.

The FUD episodes were alright but never really had any bearing on the story.

Forward Unto Dawn is just backstory for one of the supporting characters, it's not really essential.

Has anyone tried the multiplayer after the big weapon balancing update?

I just sold my copy, I think weapon balancing was the least of their problems with this game. Which is a shame.

I know, Halo 4 is pretty much beyond saving right now. I was just hoping the fact they were actually doing a title update like this meant 343i were learning from the mistakes made with this game, and any further Halo games would be better.

No probs. The H4 campaign was actually quite decent, a feeling of accomplishment completing it on Legendary. The MP was fine to start with but just didn't hold me. Revisiting it after a while was just a painful experience of lag and freezing/black screen.

I really liked the campaign of H4, but Legendary kicked my arse once the Knights appeared and was the cause of too many near death experiences for my 360. So I had to drop it down a level .... I enjoyed it even more after this though
