I've not had any server issues so far (probably just jinxed that though.....).

Got a wee gay two-man LAN party tonight. Pizza, booze, 2 xboxes & 2 TV's. Can't wait.

Ah I miss those days. TBH I kind of stopped enjoying Halo games after the LAN parties stopped. I'm still kind of interested in getting this around Xmas if only for a decent shooter campaign.

There used to be 4 or 5 of us that worked together and would have a "Halo Night" every 6 months or so from Halo 2 onwards and they were great. Now we're down to two of us.

We should wear poppies or something.

I think I'm right up to the last chapter, bloody great - I reckon Legendary run through will be tough.

Spoilers:

Cortana is really losing her head - damn shame and I hope the big green guy can sort summit! Shits getting real...

Oh and the Waypoint app opens within Smartglass now (on my surface anyway) - pretty cool actually shows you all your character stats, game stats, challenges, progress etc - overviews of games last played.

Great game

A general question for you Halo Bods
How to I access Halo Waypoint?
I downloaded it from the marketplace but cant find it on my dashboard.
I am an Xbox Live member but dont play online so hence dont have any credit in my account.
Do I need to pay up to use Waypoint?

Any help appreciated

Hi Karl,

Waypoint is classed as a game not an app - so it should be under 'My Games' section on the dashboard. Had me stumped last week to be honest.

Dont need to pay as far as I know but Waypoint is very handy for keeping track of all your Halo progress offline (campaign etc) and online.

Jaysus Christ that was a short game. Never really got out of third gear either. Reach was better with far more impressive and epic parts. Developers just don't seem to putting much effort into their single player games anymore.

Didn't understand the story either. Who the heck is this guy we're fighting? I'm assuming you need to read the comics, books and watch the animated stuff to get the "full story" which is bollox.

Gits, my brother came round last night, we were going to play a bit of multiplayer using the 14day code. I put the code in and i can play online, but i cant sign a guest in.

To begin with i thought it was an error on the xbox, but a quick internet search tells me that you can't take guests online with a trial code.

Paid 6 for a month and we were away. My gamertag is danielbeckett54 if you want to see me shoot the floor, then the wall, then across the room and possibly hit someone. I'm getting better honest!

I thought it pissed all over Reach's campaign/story. It definitely borrowed a lot of levels from previous Halos but threw in a better story than Reach.

Now that I'm done I'm going to give Legendary a crack. I can't really think of any section that caused any great problems. The most I died was doing the Longsword run near the end[/colour] .

What's everyone's loadouts? I'm using:

DMR
Magnum
Frag
Jet Pack
Resupply (picking up grenades from dead folk)
Dexterity (faster reload & weapon swap)

Spartan ops episode 1 was a good start, looking forward to ep 2 today. Hopefully that takes off.

Also, Infinity's onboard AI was awesome.

Got 4 loadouts going atm. 2 of them plasma pistol and sticky grenades for taking down vehicles. Play mostly BTB and Dominion so they are really handy. Hardlight shield is quite handy as well.

Use one for Spartan ops, which has the sentry as my armor ability.

DMR
BR
Plasma grenade
Jet pack
Extended sensor
Double primary weaps

DMR
Plasma pistol
Plasma grenades
Hardlight shield
Extra grenades
Dexterity

BR
Plasma pistol
Plasma grenades
Hardlight shield
Extra grenades
Dexterity

BR
AR
Plasma grenades
Sentry
Double primary weaps
Cant remember...

Summat like that...

Finished this myself on Medium just to grasp the story. Thoroughly enjoyed it actually, more than I thought I would.

A good story and a good start to the new trilogy. Going back through could be a little tough on legendary, those knights can be a proper pain in the arse!

Halo 4 was always going to be a game I'd be picking up, but I wasn't really following it pre-launch and had no real excitement or anticipation built up... But damn it was a fine game!

I initially started playing through on Legendary until Mission 3, then developed a hatred for the Knights. So for my own sanity and the well being of those around me, I dropped to Heroic. It's actually quite a drop in difficulty and fairly straight forward other than a few parts (still died a lot), but I will venture back to Legendary now I've finished the campaign and have developed more ways of approaching the different enemy types.

I thought the campaign was superb, it wasn't the longest; but some Halos previously did like to pad out the length of a campaign, and I felt this only had a couple of sections where it felt this was the case... I really enjoyed the story. It could of been badly handled, as on paper it definitely wouldn't of been guaranteed to work so well.

Graphically this game is top draw, some of the best on the 360 at times, and the audio is also great in terms of sound effects... did feel the music lacked compared to some of the previous, but still some nice build up at certain moments.

I also find the AI quite a fun fight (other than on legendary solo ), and it was this time... I'm kind of grateful they don't often explore behind rocks too often when you're health is recharging though. Got to love the Kamikaze Grunts as well!

WIth 3 and Reach I played through on co-op, so didn't get sucked in, in quite the same way as I did with the campaign on this. So for me, this is probably the most I've enjoyed a Halo campaign story wise, and might be my fav campaign of the year.

The above is all based on single player!!

I'm confused. Wasn't Halo 3 the Chief/Cortana love story?

Bungie must have taken them with them,

Spartan ops is basically firefight though.

No it isn't. Firefight was horde mode. Spartan Ops are just mini-missions that can be done in ten minutes.

Missions that all happen to be "Defend this area untill we can get you evac". So yeah, its firefight with an ignorable story attached.

Finsihed the campaign last. Only took 6:51, pretty short.

But then, I did get to fly the Millenium Falcon through the Death Star. I'll forgive a lot for that.

Haha my thoughts exactly. And also mission 7 was so Star Wars-esque it's crazy.

Me thinks 343 watched a fair bit of Star Wars whilst making this game.

I'm not really a fan of Spartan ops ether. It would be better with medals and proper scoring. Other than that i've really enjoyed this. Played through on heroic first time. Some bits kicked my ass, but it was more fun overall. It does look and sound amazing. And cortana has a nice arse.

I just finished the campaign

Just over six hours, on Legendary is too short though. The story was fantastic (and genuinely upsetting by the end) but not enough of of it. Even the final level, on Legendary, didn't really take me as long as it ought to have. Oh well, Back to multiplayer.

Done the first 3 levels on Legendary, nothing too taxing. The Covenant are a piece of piss, I found the Prometheans are a bit trickier but I think that was more down to a shortage of ammo and a bad checkpoint a couple of times.

Is anyone got the map pass? Not sure whether to bother, it was poorly implemented in Reach and a total waste of money.

I got it free with the LE. It's just the 3 map packs I think, nothing extra. First one is out in about a month.

It took me just under 10 hours. I feel so inferior to you now.

Regicide is probably my favourite MP game just now. There's a great feeling when you're sitting in third place or something and kill the king for 30 points and leap frog everybody to win the game.
