Pretty much what it says on the tin. I'll also throw in some moments from the film.

Obviously this thread will contain some pretty big spoilers.

Ah fuck, I won't be able read this. I've never seen Twin Peaks but was thinking about watching it recently. Got the boxset as a present over a year ago and I still haven't cracked it open yet.

I love the 1st season but I've never seen the 2nd. Probably should get round to it before checking back on this thread.

No. 15 - Bob In the Bedroom // Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

In a terrifying scene from a film that's chock-a-block with terrifying scenes, our doomed heroine Laura Palmer gingerly walks up the stairs in her home as she looks for "the man behind the mask". As she peers out from behind her bedroom door, she's greeted by her tormentor: the grizzled and demonic Bob.

The build up is intense and unbearable. The pay-off is sphincter looseningly scary.

I should apologise in advance to Elab for posting Bob pics.

I know she doesn't like it when I do that.

You should photoshop him into some traditional Scottish clothing. She'd love you forever.

No. 14 - Albert's Speech // Season 2

When FBI pathologist Albert Rosenfeld (Miguel Ferrer) makes one cutting quip too many, an enraged Sheriff Truman (Michael Ontkean) threatens to punch his lights out for a second time. However, Truman is thrown off guard when Rosenfeld retaliates with a Zen like speech that undercuts his abrasive and mocking attitude towards Truman and the town of Twin Peaks.

Proof, if proof were needed, that Miguel Ferrer is made of win.

Bastard.

I think her mum's flashback was possibly even more effective - the pan through the room in her memory, and then the realisation of what was in the corner. It's the same kind of fright thing as Ghostwatch eg.

No. 13 - Coop's Intro // Pilot Episode

FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper's very first scene in the series perfectly sums up our hero's character. He's an eccentric nerd with a sharp mind, a childlike enthusiasm for nature and a penchant for "damn fine coffee" and cherry pie. Coop is played brilliantly by Kyle McClachlan, who portrayed a prototype Dale in another David Lynch joint called Blue Velvet.

No. 12 - Cherry Stem Twist // Season 1

In an attempt to infiltrate house of ill repute One Eyed Jack's, amateur sleuth Audrey Horne (Sherilyn Fenn, easily the hottest Peaks girl) impressively ties a cherry stem into a knot with her tongue during a job interview with the brothel's madame.

If you don't love fall in love with Audrey at this exact moment, you're made of stone.

No. 11 - Leland and Laura // Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

After brutally belittling his own daughter at the dinner table for not washing her hands, Leland (under the control of Killer Bob) sits on his bed with a malevolent expression on his face. But as Bob fades away for a brief moment, Leland's true nature shines through and the full realisation of what he has just done to his daughter hits him like a ton of bricks. He makes his way to Laura's bedroom and offers an emotional apology to his daughter.

It's a rare tender moment between a father and his daughter in a bleak and harrowing film, and it's an emotionally devastating one, too. Needless to say, Sheryl Lee and the great Ray Wise crush it.

Great start - number 15 almost killed me when I first saw it. Fire Walk With Me is in my top 10 films, so I hope to see more of it make the list.

IMHO it's David Lynch's best film by a country mile.

I would have liked Fire Walk With Me had I seen the show first.

I saw about 6 episodes 5 years back. Liked it quite a bit.

No. 10 - Garland's Vision // Season 2

A lovely little moment in which the starchy Major Garland Briggs lowers his defences and informs his son Bobby of a vision he had. RIP Don S. Davis.

No. 9 - A Grave Situation // Season 1

The funeral of Laura Palmer turns out to be most eventful. Not only does a fight break out between mortal enemies Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook) and James Hurley (James Marshall), but a distraught Leland Palmer flings himself on top of Laura's coffin, breaks the machinery and causes the casket to jerk up and down. Tragic.

I wont be able to read this yet, but it has reminded me to hurry up and get watching Twin Peaks. For a Lynch fan like myself its strange that I have always avoided it, other than fire walk with me.

No. 8 - The Return of Philip Jeffreys // Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

In the FBI's headquarters in Philadelphia, long lost agent Philip Jeffreys (David Bowie) appears seemingly out of nowhere, much to the surprise of Cooper and his FBI colleagues. He babbles about someone called Judy and questions Cooper's identity ("Who do you think this is there?") before telling his colleagues of a meeting he witnessed between the Little Man and Bob, which was held "above a convenience store". Jefferys screams, and disappears again. 100 per cent Lynch weirdness.

No. 7 - Closer to Bob // Season 2

Demonic entity Bob gets up close and personal with Laura's cousin, Madeline Ferguson, in a terrifying vision. I guess he didn't like the awful song that she, James and Donna sang beforehand.

Still profoundly scary after all these years. Frank Silva, you will be missed.

During an interview with Cooper and Truman, the one armed man's persona changes from meek shoes salesman Philip Gerard to Mike: an eloquent and softly spoken spirit who is determined to stop Killer Bob from taking another life.

No. 5 - Ronette's Flashback // Season 2

For a show that aired in the early nineties on prime-time American TV, Twin Peaks had more than its fair share of horrific and scary moments. And Ronette's flashback to Laura's murder in that tatty old traincar is no exception.

Aaaaah! God, this was freaky stuff for prime-time Tv.
This thread has inspired me to pick up my viewing of Season 2, which I had abandoned last year after Episode 16 (which brings the 'who killed Laura?' storyline to an end). I realise I remembered very little of the rest of the season, so i'll revisit it to see just how much it treaded water before it reached that disturbing last episode.

No. 4 - Laura Crosses Over // Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

Fire Walk With Me is a tough and harrowing watch, but there are moments of humanity and beauty in there, and the closing three minutes of Laura crossing over to the afterlife is one of them.

Beautiful, sad and uplifting.
