ORIGINAL: fuzzy Quick question on ToD uncut facts - Has there ever been a definitive uncut version before? I only ask as I have a UK VHS box set from the late 90s where obviously it didn't have the heart ripping out stuff, and may have also had some of the torture scenes edited. Then I have the R1 DVD box set where there seems to be some blatant editing around the time where Shorty frees Indy and takes on some Thugee guards (can't remember it edited like that in the UK version though). Any explanations? I know what you mean, though, isn't there a shot where Shorty grabs Indy and says "wake up, Dr Jones" and Indy slaps him away, and in the background there's a couple of Thugee guards who look like they've just been beaten up? I always remember thinking what happened to them? Did Shorty 'torch' them? Just problems with continuity I guess. Aye, that the one. Guards hoping around like they've been hit, but no scene showing it. Like you said, continuity I guess. The things your older eyes notice, but your younger eyes didn't even register (or give a shit about I guess!) What I'd give to go back and watch this film for the first time again. Parents took me to see it when I was about 7, it was all I talked about for weeks. Makes me pitty kids growing up today.
