Still, at least the Hobbit got exactly what it deserved.

You've made Gimli and myself cry with that statement, man.

And people may crow about Adele (MEH) but Bassey knocked her out of the park.

Bassey can still sing, but she annoys the hell out of me when she rushes her lines. Just sing the correct line to the correct beat for goodness sake! And bless Adele, she looked absolutely terrified.

Highlight of the night was seeing Naomi Watt's face in response to MacFarlene name-checking Mulholland Drive in the boobs song. I'm hoping that was a genuine reaction of disgust rather than something rehearsed.

The whole of that reel was rehearsed; all the actresses where in on that. Also they were wearing completely different dresses too. One too many bevvies beforehand, Qwerty?

This was my predictions last April:

BEST FILM
Cloud Atlas
The Dark Knight Rises
Django Unchained
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Inside Llewyn Davis

Lawless
Les Miserables
Lincoln
Moonrise Kingdom
The Silver Linings Playbook

4/10 here - not too bad, Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit and Moonrise Kingdom should have got nominated! The Coens movie ended up not being eligible, next year?

BEST DIRECTOR

Joel Coen & Ethan Coen - Inside Llewyn Davis

Tom Hooper - Les Miserables
Peter Jackson - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Christopher Nolan - The Dark Knight Rises
Quentin Tarantino - Django Unchained

0/5 here - that's pretty bad, though I think Jackson, Nolan and Tarantino should have been.

BEST ACTOR
Bradley Cooper - The Silver Linings Playbook
Martin Freeman - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Garret Hedlund - Inside Llewyn Davis
Hugh Jackman - Les Miserables

Aaron Johnson - Savages

2/5 - Though I thought Jackman would take this initially, kind of underestimated how good Day-Lewis would be.

BEST ACTRESS
Jessica Chastain - Lawless
Laura Linney - Hyde Park on Hudson
Virginia Madsen - The Magic of Belle Isle
Julianne Moore - The English Teacher

Christina Ricci - Bel Ami

0/5 - I haven't even heard or seen anything about Julianne Moore's film yet.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Russell Crowe - Les Miserables
Bencio Del Toro - Savages
Leonardo DiCaprio - Django Unchained
Ray Liotta - Killing Them Softly
Justin Timberlake - Inside Llewyn Davis

0/5 - Another poor show, DiCaprio arguably deserved to be in there though.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Helena Bonham Carter - Great Expectations
Anne Hathaway - Les Miserables

Salma Hayek - Savages
Frances McDormand - Moonrise Kingdom
Jacki Weaver - The Silver Linings Playbook

2/5 - Look at that! I predicted the winner!

Then last time I made predictions was in September:

BEST FILM
Argo
Cloud Atlas
The Dark Knight Rises
Django Unchained
Flight
Killing Them Softly
Les Miserables

Moonrise Kingdom
Promised Land
The Silver Linings Playbook

4/10 - at least acknowledged Argo this time round.

BEST DIRECTOR
Ben Affleck - Argo

Tom Hooper - Les Miserables
Christopher Nolan - The Dark Knight Rises
David O. Russell - The Silver Linings Playbook
Gus Van Sant - Promised Land

1/5 - Though there's plenty of argument that Affleck should have been there. Is this the first film to win Best Picture without the director even being nominated?

BEST ACTOR
Ben Affleck - Argo
Bradley Cooper - The Silver Linings Playbook
Hugh Jackman - Les Miserables
Brad Pitt - Killing Them Softly
Denzel Washington - Flight

3/5 - Good, but again, why did I not see the Daniel Day-Lincoln warpath?

BEST ACTRESS

Amy Adams - Trouble with the Curve
Halle Berry - Cloud Atlas
Marion Cotillard - Rust and Bone
Anne Hathaway - The Dark Knight Rises
Jennifer Lawrence - The Silver Linings Playbook

1/5 - At least I got the winner right, and a well deserving one at that

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Alan Arkin - Argo
Russell Crowe - Les Miserables
Robert DeNiro - The Silver Linings Playbook
Leonardo DiCaprio - Django Unchained

Eddie Redmayne - Les Miserables

2/5 - Waltz took the award but would have been nice to see DiCaprio and Sam Jackson be acknowledged!

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Samantha Barks - Les Miserables
Anne Hathaway - Les Miserables

Frances McDormand - Promised Land
Kerry Washington - Django Unchained
Jacki Weaver - The Silver Linings Playbook

2/5 - Was Barks more deserving maybe?
