Pancakes with fresh strawberries, golden syrup and poured double cream...

So good they're threatening to break the stranglehold of my lemon-and-sugar preference that I've held for nigh-on 30 years. Yes, I may have flirted with the odd Nutella and Banana combination, but nothing has come close to shifting the sweet/sharp simplicity of the ol' faithful. Until now.

The syrup just gives it an extra dimension. In scientific terms, it's know as the "Syrup Dimension".

 Aye, the syrup is the magic ingredient for pancakes to achieve spiritual transcendence. Lyle's Golden Syrup is my pick.

Anyway, in traditional Pancake Day fashion I used up all my stuff to make a load of pancakes for dinner. (well, I used all my eggs. I've loads of flour left over, of course.) I've figured out how to make them rather thin (but not crepe thin, of course) so I got far more pancakes out of my mixture. pancake total for today = 21. Now to lie down on the couch and wait for death.

 Olaf, I'm afraid I couldn't get round to the grocery store today after work. I had no ride, and the bitter cold ensured that home was the only place I was going to walk. For what it's worth, I hope my personal failings do not in any way serve to dishonor a confection as noble as the mighty pancake.

Well I thought I'd try a few variations for fillings this evening. Undoubtedly the best filling was Marmite & peanut butter. A twiglet pancake if you like.

Do not worry sir, for by enjoying pancakes all year round you are a more honourable man than the hordes of people who make pancakes on only one day a year (as honourable as those people are for marking Pancake Day, of course). Make tomorrow Pancake Day, or the day after. I won't though because I'm out of eggs.

 I ate one really big pancake. I made some for the rest of the family and then had about 2-3 pancakes worth of mixture left so I just threw it all in the pan. It was great, it was like a breakfast pancake but twice the size, That's me done though, I completely forgot about it until someone mentioned it at work,

 I've just arrived at the hotel in Aberdeen to do some work nearby until i fly back friday. Apparently no one up here is selling them (according to the hotel receptionist).
