Three films in and he finally twigs!

I was hoping that with a reboot that god awful Bay's bags were packed as well. He seems to be on a mission to destroy the Transformers legacy. The man is a bloody awful director and the last 2 films have been BAD. Regardless of what ever the trailer looks like eventually. I'll b giving this one a miss.

The first three films had a story?!

Dark of the Moon in 3D at the IMAX was pretty tought to beat. Some of it was jaw-dropping! But some of it, being a Transformers movie, was unbearable. And the plot was also another clusterf*ck. I say ... don't reboot, keep the continuity (the mess left from 3 is an interesting backdrop) and find a new story to tell in that established world i.e. a new main character. Maybe a woman this time? Transformers is pretty sexist, let's face it. It wouldn't hurt to find a Ripley character, rather than another wimp-ass male douchebag.

Don't go see this film, please for your own sakes! Otherwise we will be subjected to an endless cycle of crummy transformer film after crummy transformer film to the end of time. Can you imagine a more terrible fate?!

Ok, that's it! I'm out!

The first movie I love, even for some of it's small faults it's still an exciting blockbuster and does a lot of TF-related stuff well. The 2nd was a messy disaster with only the first 10 minutes being any good. I gave the 3rd a chance in the cinema after Bay said he's learned from the mistakes in the 2nd and sat there to see that I'd basically been lied to.

I hoped that someone else would come in and reboot the series but if Bay continues then he won't be getting any of my money at the cinema and it will be even debateable I'd rent it as well.

This is actually a sad day for someone with my monicker...

BAY!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!!
Can we please forget about the humans! who cares?!
Spike used to annoy me. And Daniel in the Movie was just in the way.
Who-ever gets the gig should view the trailer to The fall of Cybertron - the game. In the space of 2 minutes, it creates and invokes more passion and love for the characters than the 2nd and 3rd movies.
I'd say prequel. Show the war for Cybertron. The comics recently rebooted. When Optimus became Prime, and Megatron turned bad.
Better than some hot lady running from exploding buildings.....just.

When will someone mention the magic word 'reboot'? Thing is, given the total lack of story consistency between the existing 3 films, you could argue that Revenge Of The Fallen and Dark Of The Moon pretty much qualify as reboots already!

Anyone else think they should get David Cronenberg in and do the Circuit Breaker storyline?

For all the bitching about these live action movies, they aren't any worse than that animated one from the 80's with it's planet full of robo-piranhas, Orson Welles robo-Galactus and ridiculous soundtrack. Saying that though, for toy commercials, all of those films are pretty entertaining.

Also - this is another one of those franchises The Rock could make seem instantly better, so Bay ought to wrangle him in off the back of Pain And Gain and have him punching Decepticons.

“It’s a hybrid because there’s still continuity going on"

LMAO, that'll be a first because there's been none so far!

Every film the transformers have had a completely different reason for being on earth in the first place, been chasing an entirely different all powerful mcguffin each time, and now in the last one megatron was in league with the primes all along?????

Go take a running jump Michael "i've learned from my mistakes honest " Bay and go butcher some other franchise.

If Paramount are intent on doing this they should have waved a big pay check in front of Darren Aronofsky, David Fincher or Bryan Singer and brought in someone who can deliver thrills, is technically adept but can weave a tight story and will cut the fat that has spoiled Bay's movies.

David Fincher would never go near this type of film, not in a million years. It would simply not make any sense, especially if you look upon his filmography that all include hard hitting original Drama's ie Se7en,Fight Club,Social Network,The Game.
Transformers would simply not interest Fincher in the slightest, and why would it.

Darren Aronofsky for me could only work with comic characters that have a slightly darker edge, and I just dont think Transformers has that ie if you are going back to its original upbringing. If you also look at his filmography ie The Fighter,Black Swan,The fountain, placing a family movie in the mix would simply make no sense and similiar to Fincher,Darren Aronofsky has his own original style and also like Fincher his tyle revolls around drama's and dark fantasy, neither of which could be applied to Transformers.

Bryan Singer is a good shout. He has history in adapting comics characters to the big screen.
A name I also think could do a good transformers movie would be J.J Abrams,he has a great eye for story, directing and making classic family type movies,in which I think Transformers should be.

Awww man, does this mean no Bad Boys III? I guess this is cool aswell but can we please have a movie where the focus is on the Transformers rather than Shia and his annoying family. I want to see more of the NEST/Autobot alliance in action. And cut the fucking 'comedy' relief.

So Bay committed the first 3 films, now he's committed to the 4th, then he just needs to be committed for all 4.
