That was the first oscars ceremony I actually remember being excited about and invested in - never thought Hollywood would actually recognise a fantasy film as a serious piece of film making but they finally did! The Hobbit has alot to live up to but I have faith! :D

I was SO happy that Peter Jackson and Co. finally got the Oscars they deserved after spending so much time and effort bringing J.R.R. Tolkien's book to the silver-screen. I remember being very worried a day or two before the ceremony because I thought they were going to get snubbed again. The fact that they accomplished 'The Clean Sweep' is truly a memorable thing. Yeah, Empire, this feature is brilliant.

I've said it before and I've said it again- it totally deserved to win all the awards that it did. Everytime I watch it, I notice the scale and the attention to detail and love that has gone into making Tolkien's universe onscreen.

Several friends and I attended theonering.net party in Hollywood that night and were THRILLED when Peter most of the rest of the LotR Oscar-winning folks showed up, Oscars in hand, to speak to the 1500+ assembled fans! God bless him, he talked for at least 15 minutes, thanking all of the fans for helping to make the films so successful, then Ngila Dickson, Richard Taylor, Dan Hennah (I think), Jamie Selkirk and Grant Major all added their comments, all of which amounted to thanking the fans for their support. It was a magical way to cap off RotK's clean sweep earlier that evening! Thanks for reminding me of one of the most memorable nights of my life!

The first one has the most heart.

The second one the most conflict.

And the last one has the most pointless fight scenes.
