That's what I was saying when Henry Cavil somehow wormed his way into the SUPERMAN role. Just baffling that a guy of that caliber was given a shot with a major franchise. As for this Aussie, I really don't know enough about him to pass judgement, but I'm willing to take your word that he's an unlikely lead. Plenty of them in Hollywood these days. I'd like for this movie not to suck, but I don't have high hopes for the project though, as I dislike the original 300 for several reasons unlikely to be corrected in the sequel. I was a big fan of the Frank Miller book, but the way Snyder handled the material made my inner classics geek weep. Maybe this sequel won't be a cheap cash in, and will this time handle the history with dignity and class.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.
