Have I got high vote in everyone else's HoF noms?

I thought for a minute there I'd be scrolling through to the end.

Quick question, combination of insomnia and free time means I could probably finish this tonight. The only thing is TRM and I have been splitting the uploading duties, and he's busy until the weekend. He doesn't mind if I push on or leave it for him, so I thought I'd ask all of you. Should I go ahead today or leave it until the weekend for TRM?

I realise this could sound snarky but it genuinely isn't - I don't think it bothers anyone who posts the updates. You've both done great work.

Speed might be a different thing but I don't mind if it isn't drawn out

It doesn't sound snarky, it makes sense. We're so close to the end that it does seem silly dragging it out. Any bets for the top 25?

Taxi Driver
Apocalypse Now
The Godfather and II
Chinatown
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Dog Day Afternoon

Jaws for the top spot.

My fervent wish is that lots of people will watch all the films they've not come across in the top 150 and next time the likes of Godfather and Apocalypse Now don't even scrape the 20

Matty missed ALien. Has Charley Varrick been in this? I'm not expecting many of my list tbh.

Varrick, no I think it just missed out. It's the kind of film that could do with a HoF nom. I was surprised at how well Pelham did.

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three - really enjoyed this.

Close Encounters - marvellous.

Young Frankenstein - better than Blazing Saddles.

Blazing Saddles - not as good as Young Frankenstein.

Suspiria - very good.

Mean Streets - superb.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre - uncomfortable brilliance.

Aguirre - surprised it's this high. Not my favourite Herzog from this period. Very good, though.

The Godfather - shut up, everyone. It's really good. And next time I'll remember to vote for it.

Assault on Precinct 13 - brilliant. Really pleased it's this high.

The Exorcist - not Friedkin's best of the '70s.

The French Connection - Friedkin's best of the '70s. Too fucking low.

The Godfather part II - not as good as the first. It misses Caan. It doesn't miss Brando. Cazale is amazing.

Dawn of the Dead - great, great, great.

A Clockwork Orange - great, but a little high.

Chinatown - superb.

Life of Brian - Holy Grail is better.

I'm really pleased at how well horror has done in this poll.

Ok, so everything between 13 and 8 was very close. So close that each of the last few lists that came in changed the top 10. The top seven were the frontrunners from very early on and stayed that way, always swopping in and out of the top five. But in the lead-up to number one, I'll just say that the number one film stormed it. It always led the pack and won by about a two list margin in terms of lists and points. Place your bets now.

I would probably think The Godfather to be honest.

I'll post my meaningless thoughts on the top lot in a bit. (mostly, this is great, that is great etc)

Ha, I meant would have thought The Godfather. Which means I think all bets are off. Do we think it did less well because people thought it would do well anyway?

It fell out of the top 10 in the last 1000 poll as well. What it seems to be is that when someone loves it, they really love it and it's always in or around their top 10. It's just not getting the same number of actual votes as other films, something like Assault on Precinct 13 got a lot of high places but picked up a lot of lower positions that powered it up the list as well. The Godfather seemed to be all or nothing for most.

If Taxi Driver beats Jaws I'm going to demand open access to all votes and verify them with everyone who sent them

Also, maybe the fact people like me only voted for one might help.
