I have a kind of stream of consciousness 150. I've been fiddling with the order but it's a but cumbersome. I can't fit in Freebie and the Bean and that makes me sad. Or Convoy. Or the Bad News Bears. Or the Eyes of Laura Mars. '

Main prob is it's in chunks - all plays in together type of thing. BUT - I'll send whatever state it is in over at 8pm. I'm happy with my top 20 anyway - that's what I've worked through last night.

I would run it longer, but we're already a fair bit over time. The poll has been open since February, so there's been a long time to get lists together. From now on I think any lists I run (at least any I do solo) will have about a month deadline, the longer the deadline the more the poll can get forgotten, I think.

Good. Decent, but not best of the decade.

I shouldn't get more time, and I'm grateful for the bit extra I got this week, honestly. It wasn't a plea - just a mea crapa

Oh that wasn't aimed at you, it was just a more general statement. Your post wasn't there when I started replying to Matty.

Europe wasn't one of mine. And animation was at a time when everyone hit poll burnout, I think. That'd be a good one to run again at some point though. I think shorter deadlines will work. The original reason for long deadlines was to give people a chance to watch more stuff, but most people don't seem to do that, so tighter deadlines might be better.

I still have youtube links to be about 100 animations I planned to watch and never did

I'd suggested northern Europe, but it wasn't so much the poll was forgotten as there wasn't enough interest to take it forward in the first place.

Ireland on the other hand

I had a list all ready for the Europe one but I don't think I ever sent it. Maybe the eurovison thread will help boost interest in doing that again.

What happened to the debut directing poll? I agonised for days over the list I sent.

Aaaarggh. I hate this. I can't order this big - 100 is hard enough. I've sent it. It's got films I really really like in it. Order - pah! They're all great. It's gone.

The debut list, that was TRM's. I think I remember him saying there wasn't enough interest to put together a list in the end.

A few surprises on your list. I didn't know you were a fan of your number 149. Really good to see votes for rarer films like that and your number 60, 46, 47, etc.

I thought I'd mentioned 149 before in the context of the remake, of which I'm an even bigger fan

I still have my spreadsheet for that. I think it helped that it was so close to the directors poll - I used that as a base for running through their debut films as the first step.

Working on mine, but you obviously don't have to count it if the rest are all done.

As in, looking at briefly before panicking over other topics. Namely which university to go to. Nervous breakdown ahoy.

I'll try again tomorrow if that's alright. Sorry. Tarkovsky and Jodorowsky will get votes though if that helps. I'm bad this 'doing stuff on time' lark.

Lol at you when it comes to uni' deadlines. Sure, tomorrow's fine. The rest of the lists are counted though,so just vote for a top 20 or something if you don't have time to do a longer one.

Cheeky git.

It's sent now. Even though the list is incredible, I have a feeling I've left out some obvious ones, especially short films.

I might have seen Way Of the Dragon, such films tend to merge.

Bad News Bears is great fun, as is Poseidon.

Way of the Dragon is the one with the famous fight with Chuck Norris.

So far

Slap Shot - Obviously awesome
Bad News Bears - See Slap Shot
Way of the Dragon - Great moments, but the film never really comes together.
Poseidon - Not a fan, but the poster is fantastic
Obscure Object - Masterpiece
Wise Blood - See Obscure Object
Battle - Watched them all this year, can't remember a thing about it.

In that case I've not seen it.

Wise Blood has a great turn from Dourif and he's the main reason to watch it. The poster and tagline for Battle/Apes promise to much and yet the film delivers so little. Even I didn't vote for it!

Bad News Bears just dropped out of mine as well.

I'm sad there's not going to be any one vote oddities in there, and then stunned Slap Shot's sitting bottom.

So, we're not using my Bunuel reviews then?

The Poseidon Adventure - great (and I watched this last year, so there'll be a review in the 2011 thread if you want one)

Wise Blood - decent, and seems a big influence on the Coens.

Battle for the Planet of the Apes - worst of the original cycle of films. Watched it this year, if you want a review.

Next 5 up. If anyone has any blurbs for any films and would like them added, just let us know
