Haha, oh I am always putting things in order of preference, but publicly stating a list of best films from a time period where I haven't seen anywhere near enough makes me feel weird. That said, as long as there are things I haven't seen, I always feel that way. That is why I find it much easier to make a list of favorite films by certain actors, because if I make a list, its because I've seen most of the films with that actor.

My favorite film of the 70s is Annie Hall, I can't see it being beat.

I find ranking a nightmare. It's what makes lists so difficult. I do a list, rewatch for blurbs, then try to change the list, then get confused and then give up.

Have you never looked out the Australian New Wave? Cliched name, but Australian cinema in the 70s was often pretty great.

I've never really been a fan of Australian film. I've seen Picnic at Hanging Rock and Mad Max from that decade, but it was a long time ago.

 One thing I realised when making the list was how many classic from the 70's I haven't seen. I thought I'd easily be able to submit a list of 100 or 150 even but I struggled to make a list of 75. I'm not happy with my number 75, my number 74 is basically there to show my contempt towards what's beneath it .

I think I've got everything I'm going to be able to easily dig out (given I've only really kept viewing records for a couple of years now) as well as a few others lists, and stuff. So I've started bringing everything together to a single list - I think, at the latest, it will be tomorrow night but possibly this evening. Hope that's OK.
