I don't think I've seen enough to compile a good enough list, but I feel that way about all lists really.

Ranking films in order - it's a nightmare.

Haha, oh I am always putting things in order of preference, but publicly stating a list of best films from a time period where I haven't seen anywhere near enough makes me feel weird. That said, as long as there are things I haven't seen, I always feel that way. That is why I find it much easier to make a list of favorite films by certain actors, because if I make a list, its because I've seen most of the films with that actor.

My favorite film of the 70s is Annie Hall, I can't see it being beat.

Oooooo - the film I'd beg for negative marking for

I find ranking a nightmare. It's what makes lists so difficult. I do a list, rewatch for blurbs, then try to change the list, then get confused and then give up.

Have you never looked out the Australian New Wave? Cliched name, but Australian cinema in the 70s was often pretty great.

I've never really been a fan of Australian film. I've seen Picnic at Hanging Rock and Mad Max from that decade, but it was a long time ago.

I'd like to take part. Hopefully there'll be enough time for me to complete a list. Given that there is no closing date in the original post I can assume there's still time?

Got yours thanks Harry and Reb.Toast, the deadline passed on Saturday, it's basically still open now because we had a request to move back the deadline, you're welcome to send one in, but it won't be open very much longer.

One thing I realised when making the list was how many classic from the 70's I haven't seen. I thought I'd easily be able to submit a list of 100 or 150 even but I struggled to make a list of 75. I'm not happy with my number 75, my number 74 is basically there to show my contempt towards what's beneath it .

Alright, thanks. I have about 90 films listed, it shouldn't take me very long to put them in order.

I think I've got everything I'm going to be able to easily dig out (given I've only really kept viewing records for a couple of years now) as well as a few others lists, and stuff. So I've started bringing everything together to a single list - I think, at the latest, it will be tomorrow night but possibly this evening. Hope that's OK.

I'm going nuts - wasn't there a post in here saying lists of 150 were OK?

Also - Ghost Story for Xmas - single entry?

150 is fine. Ghost Stories are individual entries, sadly. Tomorrow night is fine. Got your list 'barb, and your reworked one, Harry.
