Holy Grail – Amazing.

Halloween – Fantastic, Carpenter’s best work for me.

Apocalypse Now – Brilliant, The Conversation is better but jesus wept was Coppola good in the 70’s.

Dog Day Afternoon – Amazing, Pacino’s best work.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest – Great

Alien – Amazing

Badlands – Fantastic

Jaws – Absolutely brilliant

Taxi Driver – A worthy number one (although I thought it’d go to Jaws)

Halloween - yep, another of Carpenter's masterpieces.

Apocalypse Now - one-of-a-kind brilliance.

Dog Day Afternoon - it probably is Lumet's best and he's quintessentially '70s to me, so it deserves to be this high.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - amazing. Not a single false step in it.

Alien - also amazing.

Badlands - I forgot about this when I was trying to think what would make up the top ten, so really pleased it score so highly.

Jaws - seeing it on the big screen this year brought it home just how perfectly it comes together.

Taxi Driver - can't really argue with that.

This is my fave decade, so I'm glad I actually like the vast majority of the list. The Bonds and the Rockys made me roll my eyes whenever they got a vote but for the most part I like everything. Even something like Jaws, which had zero chance of making my own list, is still a great film.

If it's already been calc'd (but not if it's more work) would it be possible to maybe post more of the entries? I bet there was a massive range of the weird, wonderful and must be seens in there.

"Oooooh, look at me, I'm rawlinson, I couldn't possibly vote for a popular Spielberg film. Oooooooh, ooooooooh, etc".

It helps if you think of that in a squeaky Welsh voice, obviously.

Not with posters and the like, take too much time. But I can post a list of titles here.

Close Encounters - meh.

Blazing Saddles - glorious

Suspiria - fantastic.

Mean Streets - brilliant. The film that got me into Scorsese, and still in my top 3 by him.

Aguire - alright.

The Godfather - I'm a fan, I must admit.

The Godfather II - also great.

Dawn of the Dead - awesome.

Chinatown - I need to rewatch this.

Life of Brian - pretty good.

Holy Grail - ace

Halloween - probably my favourite horror film.

Dog Day Afternoon - masterpiece

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - wonderful, but so difficult to watch.

Alien - another masterpiece.

Badlands - beautiful. Nice review too.

Jaws - amazing.

Taxi Driver - masterpiece.

Great run of films there. What a good decade.

Also, I really like the "Highest Vote" part - great work on the list, Rawls.

There's a lot of good films there, I just think maybe they haven't been seen by as many people.

Great list, fantastic number 1 and thanks to TRM and Rawlinson for all the effort and hard work. It's a shame Alucarda didn't get a look in and Dersu Uzala fell outside the top 150 but other than that it's a quality list.

Cracking list, a lot of the ones in my top 20 got high positions, which is always good. There's reviews for Rocky Horror and Dirty Harry in my 100 thread if you want them.

Thanks to Rawls and TRM for the hard work, I've enjoyed this list!
