 Question for anyone getting Punishment Park from Lovefilm. Is it just on reserve at the moment and is there a date, or am I going to have to buy it to make sure it gets here in time? I've never placed a reserve order from them before so I don't really know what the craic is.

Eureka have pulled their rental service from Lovefilm completely. I imagine there have tried to do the same with the others as well, so you will be lucky to get it that way from now on. It happened around the start of the last HoF.

 You're unlikely to get it through Lovefilm now then. The new release is (I'm fairly sure) through a company that doesn't allow their films to be rented from Lovefilm.

Edit - TRM got there first.

You know I saw that post a few weeks back, but thought it was referring to the film 'Eureka' which I got no problem from LF, so therefore skimmed over what it was actually about.

Why have it on reserve though if that is the case? Why not just 'No film for you!' in a Soup Nazi voice?

That can  be variable as well. There have been past issues with Network DVD where they've allowed you to reserve but don't tell you they don't have it (although, but not for all films, when they had a fight with one of the main releasing studios they did say the thing was unavailable).

If there are no other options around I could lend you my old copy (by old I mean the original release, not the re-release).

For me I think the thing is that Henrey isn't one of those slick Spielbergian child actors who emote on cue and do arch etc. With no acting experience what I see on screen is a very naturally performed confused and scared kid.

I agree with both of you but in a different order.

I don't like children but Henrey isn't like one of those Spielbergo emote-a-kids so his performance doesn't derail the film and in fact enhances it.

 I've finally started reading the Cookie book you recommended some time back, btw. Some lovely stuff in there. I'm trying to space it out between that, the HoF books and the childhood favourites I've been rediscovering.
