My one new album of the year will be:

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators - Apocalyptic Love

It's bound to be awesome. The one song they've let sneak out is greatness. To paraphrase the cool one from Star Wars: "Hey, it's Slash."

This is undoubtedly true. Slash is pretty much the coolest man who ever lived. As witnessed here ..........

I've been enjoying these :

Jay Farrar/Will Johnson/Jim James/Anders Parker - New Multitudes
Peter Bruntnell - Ringo woz ere
Father John Misty - Fear Fun
Chuck Prophet - Temple Beautiful
Alabama Shakes - Boys and Girls
Minky Starshine - Womanity
Jay Gonzalez - Mess of Happiness
Guided by Voices - Let's Go Eat The Factory
Jim White - Where It Hits You
Damien Jurado - Maraqopa
Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

Ah some good old fashioned r&b. For some inexplicable reason i thought that Boys & Girls was a 2011 release. I've since corrected my list

Picked up the debut from The Head & The Heart which is pretty neat. They're like a little slice of old school americana.

Not an amazing year for albums, and there's probably going to be nothing more this year beyond a few Christmas reissues, so I'll go with:

Spiritualized : Sweet Heart Sweet Light
The Flaming Lips: The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends
The Chemical Brothers: Don't Think
Andrew Weatherall: Masterpiece (Ok so its a mix rather than an actual album but most of the stuff on this is a whole lot better than most of the stuff NME/Q/Mojo/whatever will try and flog you)
Orbital: Wonky
Nathan Fake: Steam Days
Die Antwoord: Ten$ion
Saint Etienne: Words And Music By Saint Etienne
Toy: Toy
Simian Mobile Disco : Unpatterns

I haven't exactly been on the pulse of new music either, but....

Loved 'Visions.' That probably was my album of 2012. Certainly the one that's been playing most on my laptop/iPod this year.

Really liked Django Django's debut. Never even realised til recently that they were scottish.

Despite a couple of duffers, (iii) was another fine addition to Crystal Castles's back catalogue.

Leonard's new one was great.

Don't Think brings back extremely giddy memories of Glastonbury.

Unpatterns was definitely a return to form for SMD.

I could have done with more Jonsi vocals on the last Sigur Ros album.

After a catchy debut, I didn't find that the Vaccines came of age.

Joel yet again conjured up some awesome deep house fun (fn Pig, There Might Be Coffee)

Still though have plenty of other releases to catch up with...
