By nerdy ladies, I think you mean school girls.

That sounds very bad.

Nothing wrong with an athletic 19 year old Australian lady.

Although that video from The Sun website is rather stalkerish.

No, just saying they're probably only in their early teens, as opposed to unimpressed (and I suppose, we're supposed to read into that 'jealous') ladies.

Na, just messing. Used to do job myself at Grand Prix events in Gateshead - they'll all be athletes themselves, so those moves will be nowt new to them.

Yeah, my sister did it for older athletes when she was into running as a young teen.

I just wanted to post a gif, it had been a while

'Twas just a lighthearted comment based on the expressions on their faces, wasn't meant to be read any deeper than that.

What I hate is all the patronising bs from those on the other side of the fence.

"Why don't you like the Olympics?"
"You're supposed to like the Olympics"
"Everyone will be watching, why not you?"
"Its going to be good for the economy"
"Its a once in a lifetime event" (Yes, an event which happens every four years)
"You're just a complainer"
"Its worth every penny"

Fuck off will you, its my choice not to enjoy or indulge in this six week long corporate advertising campaign, no wonder it hasn't sold out as thankfully I'm not alone in my feelings.

If you include the Paralympics it runs to about six weeks.

In this thread you're entitled to show no interest in any part of the Olympics

Just seems quite an odd thing to get annoyed about. It doesn't really get the press coverage of the regular Olympics for one thing.

I'm not annoyed about any part of the Olympics, I just don't care for it one bit. The Paralympics is actually one of the more tolerable aspects of it for the reasons that almost no-one gives a toss about it. Proven by the fact that all coverage of the event it being siphoned off to Channel 4 instead of the big broadcasters. Another sign of pure hypocrisy by not only the organisers but the media's general apathy.

Call me prejudiced or whatever but i'm probably less interested in the paralympics than I am the regular one.

The most annyoing thing about the olympics tho is the hyped up coverage and the 'countdown' and the torch bearing and the forced fake 'excitement' about it all.
Its not about honour or sportsmanship or anything evoking a chariots of fire like ethos, its about money & sponsorship and doing whatever it takes to win at any cost.

Depends on the sport and the sportsman. I'd point to Bradley Wiggins - aiming for the biggest win of his life, and still slowing down the pack to let someone change a tyre.

He might be the exception to the rule, I just hope he passes all the dopeing tests, so many of those tour de france riders seem to take performance enhancing drugs

That's a fairly uncalled for comment IMO. If anything Wiggins has had in-sport criticism for being so outspoken against the druggies.

No need to take offence, I dont know much about the tour de france or Bradley wiggins other than hes been in the news lately, i'm not trying to imply he takes drugs.

Muse's official song and video for the Olympics...I had no idea there was an official song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66molzUEkWI&feature=player_embedded

It's like Queen re-interpreting My Way...awful.

So the North Korean woman's football team have refused to play because the flags being used on screen were the South Korean national flag.

Two days before launch and already a roaring success!

Refunds issued because the fancy pants roof of the swimming venue actually blocks the view.

Wasn't this supposed to be the point of late ticketing? Not selling the tickets until they were sure the venues could handle the seating arrangement?
