I think the logic is he (and the Olympic mascot) dress as things associated with London. Like a Beefeater, a London Policeman, a Queen's Guard, a hooded thug and an overccharging cab driver.....

It still bugs me they didn't give kids the chance to design our mascots and logos in a nationwide schools competition. Obviously they probably would have had to hire a design team to clean them up and polish them a bit, but it would have been a great way to really get people involved.

And possibly cheaper too?

Oh well, at least everything else has exceeded my expectations anyway

 One thing which can definitely be said. the graphic design for this Olympics sucks. The logo is still awful and these mascots are rather lacking.

The mascots are hideous like. It's funny how they charge for them to appear at schools and community centres as well! Shows where the spirit in this games really is!
