Okay, so as a big fan of great Sci-Fi movies I've been thinking lately on what are my top 10 favourite? Recently there has been some truly exellent sci-fi hitting our screens, from the likes of Inception to Avatar. So here goes my list: 1) Bladerunner: Ridley Scott's masterpiece was a disaster at the time but is now hailed as one of the genres finest 2) The Empire Strikes Back: The best sequel and Star Wars film of all time! 3) Alien: The film that made Ridley Scott, the original and best in the series 4) Metropolis: Friz Lang's 1920's masterpiece broke the mould and set a new standard in sci-fi and film making. 5) Inception: Christopher Nolan is a genius. 6) District 9: Neil Blomkamp's South-African set alien invasion/gangster slum movie had me hooked 7) Star Wars: A New Hope: George Lucas' hit sci-fi francise started out with one of the biggest films of the 70's. 8) The Man Who Fell To Earth: David Bowie's cult space oddity under the supreme direction of Nicholas Roeg is an aquired tast but one that I love. 9) Rise of the Planet of the Apes: A truly great re-make/re-boot, has you rooting for the Apes! 10) Avatar: James Cameron's hugely expensive sci-fi extravaganzer plays out a bit like Dances With Wolves meets Aliens, simply stunning on the big screen in 3D. So there's my thoughts on the best. What's yours?
