ORIGINAL: homersimpson_esq Am I the only one that finds Scarlett Johansson's arse in that picture wonderfully distracting? I feel like I'm being a bad geek for focusing on it. Like, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, the HULK are all in one picture, and I'm looking at a girl's arse. I feel there is still hope for me, yet. You're not the only one! I also found my eyes almost magnetically drawn towards Scarlett Johansson's pert derriere! I was only listening to the words in that scene, my eyes never left her body. Surely Whedon, SJ and the gang knew exactly what they were doing in that scene, i cant imagine that being "accidental". The shot was so long! (not that im complaining) Second only to Lost In Translation in terms of Scarlett arseage How can you not love a medium where a single beautifully-performed line or scene can move you to tears of sadness or happiness? Where you watch with baited breath to see what will happen next? Where you want to punch the air and shout "Yes!" at the top of your voice? Where a camera trick or some special effect takes your breath away? I've so many reasons to love cinema, but perhaps rather than repeat those that have gone before, here are some of mine (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!!) The Straight Story - the beautiful simplicity of the reconciliation at the end. No big dramatics, just the simple look of contrition and absolute forgiveness from each of the brothers before they take to the bench to stare at the night sky. I still think this is the most perfect ending ever filmed. Up - the fact that an animated movie can encapsulate profound love and anguish in 10 minutes; something that Twilight hasn't managed to do in 4 films! The Elephant Man - the noisy, dirty harshness of Victorian London brought to life. The absolute humanity of the "monster", and the monstrosity of some humans. Treves' moral dilemma as his subject becomes his friend (and no, it's no coincidence that there are 2 Lynch movies here!). It's A Wonderful Life - "I want to live!" Seven Samurai - the shot of Kyuzo practicing his swordplay amongst the flowers in the meadow. Shawshank Redemption - Andy's raw elation as he is bathed in the rain and lit by lightning after crawling through raw sewage to freedom. And Red's final lines, natch! And that's barely scratching the surface
