It's certainly not the best film the Coens have done, but there's something so alluring about this shot. To me it just screams real cinema.

There are so many more but here are two that stand out to me, So many beautiful cinematic pieces and shots in these films. I chose not the most technical but the ones that had true power behind them.

The opening sequence of Star Wars

'My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius'. THE best scene in cinema history

Opening credits of Drive. Goosebumps in the cinema, I knew I was watching a classic as soon as 'Night Call' kicks in

The Vangelis Bladerunner score

The Children of Men Bexhill single shot building assault sequence

Anchorman, 'Go fuck yourself San Diego'

Robocop, all of it

Carey Mulligan singing in the club in Shame. She is awesome.

Yoda vs Count Dooku. C'mon, who didn't jump out of the seat in the cinema and shout 'fuck yeah!' when he pulled the light sabre out?

Get away from her you BITCH!

The scene in Good Vibrations where John Peel plays Teenage Kicks twice

Adrian, Adrian!

Title sequence to 2001 A Space Odyssey

Some damn fine scenes you gave there. You are so right about the beginning of Drive, it's genius (so is the rest of the movie). We can just hope Nicolas Winding Refn decides to make another movie like that.

Ending of close encounters of the third kind and E.T. is magical to me thanks to childhood memories-thanks Spielberg.

The crop duster scene in North by Northwest.

The lord of the rings scenes with camera moving along the New zealand scenery.

Greta Garbo's face.

James stewart's drawl.

Classic Hollywood/Bollywood musicals.

Jack Nicholson's presence in seventies dramas.

Billy wilder
