Go to Red Letter media and watch Plinkett's 74 minute review of the Phantom Menace and the rest of the prequels if you don't believe me!

Ok, phantom was no way near as good as the original Star wars films but it's still ace: who doesn't love the cowardly battledroids and THAT double-lightsaber. This film was my childhood so, critics, leave off. It may not be one of the great movie pictures of all time...but some memories are sacred to kids of the 90s!

I like to make up my own mind not have some whiney turd of a Fan boy moan about how bad he though it was and how he could make it better. And if I want to go and watch this movie in 3D and 'give Lucas more money' I will do thanks.

... before Hugo. Much as I tried to be a cynical dick about it, by the end of the trailer I knew that it was my destiny to watch all 6 films in 3D. Empire in 3D will be the absolute balls! You KNOW it! I don't actually own any of the SW movies at home because they're re-released so much, so for me the trip to the theatre is worth it. Maybe I'll buy them when the 3D Blu Rays are out ..?

These are upsettingly bollocks! Booo! The King's Speech style one is by far the worst, mind you anything that reminds me that this car-crash of a film makes me feel sad anyway!

Terrible posters, the Darth Maul face one is OK but the rest are fairly shite.

Anyone else feel like these posters are advertising a completely different movie? Focusing on Darth Maul is smart but a miss-sell at the same time.
The character deserved 50% more screen time at least.

I've owned this film on video, dvd and now bluray,,,,it's gotta be a hard job selling Tha Phantom Menace to anyone who has already seen it.,
Now, I stuck by the prequels, there is an element of fun and it is Star Wars after all, but even if you choose to ignore the far too confussing storyline, awful dialog, clunky pace, lack of screen time given to characters, Jake Lloyd, Jar Jar and the Gungans - It's still, by far the worst Star Wars movie .
And... I'm not buying into this 3D lark either... the space battles and pod races maybe, but the rest is going to look like cardboard cutouts.
Not for me babsy.

Does anyone else think the focusing on Darth Maul is to capitalise on the success that graced Insidious last year? People seemed to love that flick and Darth Maul was the villain in it.

The quality of these is dreadful - and not just because they're photo-montage rather than illustrated. They look suspiciously like fan-made posters to me. All that money, and this is the best LucasFilm can come up with? Seriously?? Good Lord...

Okay so Phantom isn't the best Star Wars, but it is still a fun and entertaining watch. Little Jake Lloyd wasn't that bad, what do you expect from a kid, fu*k*ng Shakespeare??? It is so boring listening to all the boring cynical Victor Meldrews on here moaning about CGI and 3D, get over it! Oh and if I remeber rightly, Empire actually gave this 4 stars when it first came out!

Just a nod to the fact that they know they ballsed the release first time round and trying to be seen to getting 'it right' second time round and as always George wanting to ring every $ out of each film.

If you had actually bothered to watch Red Letter Media's superb review (better than watching the film itself) then you'll know that its anything but a "whiney turd of a Fan boy". In fact its probably the most intelligent and insightful comment on the film I've ever seen, and by a guy who actually knows what he's talking about and not some deluded fanboy making excuses for one of the worst big budget sci-fi films ever made.

Notice how they don't feature Jar Jar, despite the fact he's one of the main characters.
