I thought it was worth starting a thread specifically just for blu rays released by Arrow video. Im personally a huge fan of their releases. Although some have come under flak, i think overall they are a great independent label putting out movies that may otherwise either not be released on blu or not get any uk representation. It also goes without saying that they put a lot of effort into their packaging and artwork! Any other Arrow fans here?

So far i own:

Dawn of the dead
Day of the dead
Inferno
Phenomena
The funhouse
The beyond
City of the living dead

Yep, I love the packages they put together, I've only got Dawn of the Dead, The Beyond and Obsession but hope to add to that soon.

I wanted to get Maniac Cop on Blu-ray but was annoyed to see it didn't have a commentary. There was one on the region 1 dvd for years but was never available over here, which is a tad annoying. May still get it eventually, though.

Tempted to buy this though-

i ordered vamp and deep red today. i love deep red but have never seen vamp!

That is an excellent package indeed. Too bad that a lot of those "older" films they release don`t have a good picture quality. I got their Deep Red release and damn that picture is bad. As for extra`s etc. goes they are excellent releases though

I was going to buy The Beyond but then discovered it's not got the original sepia opening and suffered from badly synched dialogue, so I didn't bother and just stuck with my Grindhouse Releasing SE DVD from a few years ago.

However, I do own their BRs of Dawn and Day.

losthighway there are two arrow versions of the beyond, one with a black and white opening, one with the correct sepia opening. I have the sepia one

Is there!? How do you know you're getting the correct print? Or do you mean both versions are included in the main set? And what about the dodgy dialogue synching issue??

It's a gamble unfortunately. They messed up on the opening and had to do a reissue, by which point the market was flooded with the faulty copies. HOWEVER, if you buy it and have the opening in black and white, then Arrow will send you a corrected disc free of charge, you just have to scan your receipt/ invoice and e-mail it to them for proof of purchase. It has been co nfirmed that Arrow is absolutely still honouring this.

I was just lucky, ordered it from Amazon for �8.99 and the correct version sent to me.

I'm delighted with the release and think it looks fantastic on BD.

I agree about the intermittent flickering. It distracted me particularly in one scene right near the end, other than that i think it's a fantastic looking release.

It's by the far the best i've ever seen the movie look.

I think, judging from the screencaps (haven`t got it myself though) that the Blue Underground looks better.

It may do but personally im really pleased with the arrow release. Having only seen the movie on vhs, then on dvd to see it in hi def was a real treat for me! I absolutely love the movie, particularly the playful relationship between hemmings and nicolodai.

I think im going to order the exterminator from Amazon as that has gone down to 11.99 now. Still need to pick up bay of blood too. Am still on the fence about tenebrae. The white noise issue is worrying but my onky other option is the french blu with burnt in subs

read above dude. IMO it's a fantastic release, however there are copies out there with the prologue in black and white rather than sepia. If you end with a disc like that, you just need to contact Arrow direct and they'll send a corrected disc.

I loved the Dawn of the Dead release. I still need to get Day of the Dead though, and it's a shame they don't own the rights for Night... That would be an amazing release.
