He has come round,seen the light,like a prophet of old hes now taking his new vision to the masses over on IMDB last I heard.Still not keen on the naughty swearing or more adult aspects of the script if I remember though,but in general it has his approval.
Probably change his mind since.

Cheers, Danbo. Soundtrack composer Paul Leonard Morgan has confirmed that the music you hear behind those clips is the first preview of the actual score. Those action scenes are great, and the production values look even better there than they did in the trailer.

Its the same plot from The Raid and he throws the main badguy (lady) out of a window. After watching the trailer, im pretty sure theres nothing I will miss.
What is it with throwing bad guys out of windows!!!??

Worked for Hans Gruber.

Principal photography on Dredd finished around the time The Raid went into pre-production, and Alex Garland's Dredd script has been available online since late 2009 . The only one of around thirty glowing reviews from journalists who saw the screening at Comic-con to mention the (very basic) plot similarities as a negative was that of Empire. Most reviews that mention it explicitly state that it's not a problem.

The positive word of mouth generated by those screenings and the deft manner in which DNA have handled the film's slow build marketing has given me hope that Alex Garland's stated target of $50 million at the US box office might be achievable.

Looks very cool and that set is actually a square outside a building with a little cg magic extending it upwards,reminds me of the shitty council flats from 70's Burnley. Can't wait now....

The Anthrax song doesn't do it for me. After months of fuck all, everyone who insisted the film's limited marketing budget would be concentrated in the weeks before release seem to have been proven correct. Saw the trailer infront of batman today, and it looks great on the big screen. Probably wont see it in the cinema, but i look forward to eventually seeing it.

Remember how "it's judgement time!" from the original theatrical trailer seemed a little ... cheesy? Yet another new TV spot shows a better grasp of Dredd's dry wit. "The perps were ... uncooperative". More good stuff with the city and the bike too:

What sort of box office do people think it has to do for a possible sequel to be greenlit or for it even to be considered a hit ? Surely anything north of 200 mil would mean a sequel !

This film making that much would be a huge surprise. It's a relatively low-budget film we're dealing with here.

Garland has stated that a US box office of around $50 million should do the trick but that's a pretty tough number to hit as well.

 Alex Garland - screenwriter of Dredd (and 28 Days Later, The Beach, Sunshine and more) - has appeared on the 2000AD message board and answered fans questions. Some very interesting tidbits in there!
