Will you be able to? Most stores only take in the orders for part works beyond the first issue. Unless they'll take odd orders,?  just thought past the first few it's normally collectors.

 I work in a shop so I get dibs on them. Just have to make sure our paper guy keeps ordering them, though the Assistant manager's also collecting them so he'll no doubt insist upon it.

 I'm really getting pissed off that I'm still waiting for Issue 1 to be delivered. I contacted Customer Services yesterday but still haven't heard back yet. If, for whatever reason, there's a problem with my order then I've already missed out on Issue 1. This is piss poor service.

That's why I subscribed, I heard most places only get the first few issues of part works stuff then stop getting them in

Was just about to post the above list as I have read it on another site where the OP had emailed for an accurate listing of what is to come. Apparantly, the above is what is planned, although it did come with the normal disclaimer that it is subject to change...

Anyways - speaking as some-one who is novice to Marvel - is the general concensus that the above is a decent range? Or is it mainly filler? Opinions folks please.....

In fairness, the confirmation email does say allow up 28 days for first dispatch. But I am getting impatient! I ordered on the 29th of December, so there's potentially another 2 weeks wait! Hopefully things move a bit quicker once the first one's been sent.

Looking at that list, if it is correct, I only have 2 from there (Civil War and Fallen Son), so looking forward to it!

 Well, i dont know much about Marvel comic's, we'll need a seasoned Marvel comic's aficianado to comment on the above list, as to whether some titles are fillers (which is my thinking!) or not. Having said that, there are titles in the list which i would love to add to my comic collection, titles such as KRAVEN'S LAST HUNT which i 'm having trouble getting hold of.

It's a decent selection but there's not a thing on there you can't get already for less money without that ugly cover and spine (not to mention those horrendously written introductions). I'm out, I'm afraid.

Seems I own 9/60 of the collection. However it means i'll probably sell off my paperback copies for a few quid. Not overly fussed. Could have been worse. I'm pretty happy with the collection though. I'm more knowledgeable on the older arcs so i'm happy to see more recent stories such as death of captain america, house of m and siege included which I haven't touched at all.

Thanks for posting! I guess owning 15% of the collection isn't so bad.

As for an opinion as a self-confessed Marvel nut - this list is very varied and collects some excellent stuff. If you're a complete newbie this would be a great collection to own. Either through this collection or like Pete has mentioned buy the paperback versions and save some money.

I too am not too keen on the cover and spine, in fact this was one of my main qulams when after buyung the first issue. I also agree that i can save a lot of cash by A)buying paperback B) buying the titles i want, having said that, i think i'll be buying one or two more titles, and thats it for me!

 Secret War was written by Michael Bendis and published in 2004 and was a bit rubbish. Secret Wars was from the 80's and backcombing and feathering was the style.

Overall a bit hit and miss some like Secret War and Ghost Rider Road to Damnation are poor some like X-Men E is for Extinction and Iron Man Extremis are very good.

Yeah I know, I'm just getting worried that something's gone wrong with my order and by the time it's confirmed I'll have missed out on Issues 1 and 2. Like I said upthread, I'm always on edge if I'm waiting for something to be delivered, always expecting something to go wrong.

As for the list of titles. I've only read 3 of them (Siege, Birth of Venom and Wolverine, assuming it's the Mark Millar Omnibus) so that's pretty cool.

Hmmm, there's a lot on there that I either have no idea what it is or really have no interest in owning. Captain Britain...wtf? Annoying a lot of the Marvel stories I would love to have are further down and and spread out: Civil War, Secret Invasion, Death of Captain America, Iron Man- Demon in a Bottle, Wolverine Origin. I'm really tempted to just cancel my subscription after Birth of Venom and just see if I can get the title I want cheaper elsewhere or maybe, does anyone know if they'll be selling individual issues via the website?

I think a lot of people went on to read Captain Britain stuff when he turned up in Excalibur. Claremont, Moore, Davis all used him.

 Presuming by Crooked World they mean Jasper's Warp? I wouldn't quite put it up there with Moore's very best work, but still fantastic stuff. Overall I'd say it's a good if overpriced collection if you're new to Marvel, but it misses some of the really great stuff (I'm thinking particularly Doc Strange/Doom: Triumph and Torment, Death of Jean DeWolff, Nextwave). Plus leaving out the 60s and 70s is still a strange decision, a lot of the not-so-good stuff there would be much better replaced with stuff like the Trial of Galactus or the Death of Gwen Stacy etc.

Thing is though, I don't think it's actually a bad price even at full price. The hardbacks are really nice quality - and looking up the first few titles on Amazon, even if they'd cost 9.99 it'd be a good deal.

Admittedly the spine art is something to hook the collectors/completists in, and I'd rather a nice black spine with the title (when they're all on the shelf how are you meant to work out which is which easily?).

I've subscribed for now, mainly to get Issue 3 & 4 for 9.99. A good intro for new collectors from the look of it...
