Does this update mean I can throw the Kinect in a drawer until a killer app is released?
No more sign in, you have not been recognised, sign in again to play online, please put in your Microsoft password...

Although, Xbox record command has been working well the past couple of times I've tried it. A joypad mounted mic could have accomplished that though.

The Max game seemed like a pretty decent old school platformer, visually quite pretty. Going to give that a fair go.

Only done the training on Spartan Assault but, despite being a Halo fan, I can't see me bothering with it really. Maybe if I'm really bored.

You can set it to Auto Sign-in now, so you're go to go with your Kinect-less Adventures (see what I did there ).... Just make sure you PIN all your most used apps to help getting around.

Max is a decent game, slow and restrictive initial section, but it all opens up a bit and gets better as you move through the game.

I'm really enjoying Max to say it was free. Think I'm in act 4 or so, I've developed 4 powers so far anyway. There's some pretty tricky puzzles, especially the ones to get to amulet pieces.

Also I'm quite enjoying OneGuide, 'Watch Sky One' etc. I'm so lazy I no longer need the remote control....

So Aaron Paul turned my XB1 on during the World Cup last night and it seems to be happening quite a lot.

A clever marketing ploy or pure accident?

If it's a marketing ploy (which seems unlikely to me) then it seems to have backfired a bit.

Can't believe people are getting angry about it, hardly the end of the world.

If I had a gripe it would be that my Kinect listens to Aaron Paul more than it listens to me. Does fuck all I tell it to.

So, my Xbox One would appear to be fucking knackered this morning. Won't boot at all, exhausted all troubleshooting options.

Can I just take this back to GAME or are Microsoft my best bet?

Gave GAME a call in the end, they insisted that their support department went through a few things with me first (all stuff I'd already tried to exhaustion of course), they then agreed it was knackered so gave me a reference number to take to my local store for a full refund and/or exchange, which I did. All told I was without an Xbox for about 4 hours, I now have a shiny new one. All credit to them, great customer service really.

God knows what was wrong with it, my guess is the hard drive, was making some rather unhealthy noises during it's final moments.

That said, I can definitely recommend an external drive as a both a quicker way to load games and a useful back-up. It's almost halved load times on the likes of Forza and getting my new Xbox back up and running with all my game installs was literally as quick as plugging the drive back in.

Anyone downloaded Outlast? The tone kind of reminds me of Condemned :Criminal origins. Except you cant twat people with pipes. you only have a video camera with its night vision to see in the dark. Theres some really good jump scares, with an impending sense of dread throughout. Im loving it so far.

Guacamelee STCE is bloody brilliant!

It's the Games with Gold free game for July.

Excellent!

I'm tempted by Outlast but I'm too much of a wimp... ;-)

Anyone know if there's a size limit on the size of external HDD you can use with the XB1?

Gunna need to pick one up soon, on 76% used and will only increase with Games With Gold....

Fairly sure Major Nelson said there was no limit currently, just a minimum spec of 250GB and USB 3.0.

Just 1000 pointed max. Not a bad little game really.

Also is anyone else really excited for the master chief collection? It looks insane. Especially the multi-player.

Yup, can't wait. Looking forward to co-op-ing all the campaigns again and playing H2 & H3 on (hopefully) well populated servers will be good. I just hope they hold up well and aren't best left as good memories.

Yeah, I'll be getting that. Never played Halo 2 MP online (only local splitscreen), so that should be good. Also really looking forward to Halo 1 online MP and the three-shot pistol of doom.

343 showed of some stuff at RTX last week.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz0O6Ml1fzQ

The bit about how the multi-player playlists work looks great. You can choose to play just halo 3 in a playlist, or just halo 1. And playlists with the games mixed so it will change the engine depending on what game the maps from.

And i think a lot of people will be playing when it comes out.

theres a bit here about the ascension remake too.

Thanks. Nothing too taxing tbh. I'd never used a soldering iron before so the LED swap was daunting and I made a couple of mistakes along the way that I wouldn't make a second time.

Major one being soldering all the rumble motor wires back on and nearly finished then realising the 'Y' button was on the wrong way and wouldn't work, I had to strip it all down and do it again.
