ORIGINAL: sroey Cross platform games seem to suffer on it, yet dedicated games truly shine. Not so with the Xbox, even as a devout Xbox owner, some of the PS3 exclusives are stunning. Thinking about it first party support for the Xbox in the way Naughty Dog support the PS3 is really lacking overall. Sony own quite a few nice little software houses now, coding specifically with the PS3 hardware in mind, which results in stuff like Uncharted & God of War. Microsoft don't really have much in the way of a similar setup, 343 Industries would count now I suppose, but even as pretty as Halo 4 was, it's still running on a (albiet heavily modified) engine from the Bungie stone-age. It's the kind of thing purchasing Rare should have been all about, instead they're busy making Kinect Sports, **facepalm!** If early details are to be believed the GPU Sony have earmarked for the PS4 is about 50% more powerful than the new Xbox equiveilent, which sounds like a mammoth undershoot from Microsoft, until you factor in the (again rumoured) 8GB of RAM the new Xbox has, twice that of the Playstation apparently, not too mention one or two other task specific on-board tricks to offload the work where it can. They'll be a lot closer than the raw numbers suggest I'd wager. It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out.
