ORIGINAL: AngryDude92 The last broardcast came out round about Blair witch Project. It came out a full year before Blair Witch even started being filmed, if memory serves, although Blair Witch was developed in the early 90s. So those two are really coincidental and don't fall into this category. Apparently, prior to making BWP, the makers saw a screening of TLB and personally congratulated the makers of it. And whether or not it is 'coincidence' that there are similarities, when picking up a copy of TLB to review, I certainly saw it came with a press release stating the previous point about the BWP makers, prior to making BWP, seeing TLB and including a list of specific key points of similarity. Whatever the shakedown of this situation was, the DVD cover certainly includes the words 'May have influenced The Blair Witch Project. It certainly preceded it As for the general question I suggest 1) Someone pitches an idea to a few places, gets turned down a lot until the green light is gotten eventually 2) Someone who previously turned it down hears someone else picked it up and concludes maybe its not such a bad idea after all and rushes into production with a film of a similar nature, 3) It stops at two, generally because in the marketplace two's company and three's a crowd, and once word gets around of two similar features anybody considering a similar film to the pitch they turned down )after hearing somebody else thinks it is a good enough proposition) now considers the jig is up.

Yes, dreamers dream and doers do. But if dreamers DON'T dream, doers don't have anything TO do. Everything that is only here because people exist, only exists because someone thought of it., or in other words, dreamed it.
