Dr No [maybe]
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Diamonds Are Forever [maybe]
Live And Let Die
The Spy Who Loved Me [maybe]
Moonraker [don't care, I think it's awesome!]
For Your Eyes Only [maybe]
Octopussy
The Living Daylights
Casino Royale

I like all Bond films except for Quantum Of Crappage.

Well most of those I like, but For Your Eyes Only, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die and On Her Majesty's Secret Service are varous degrees of rubbish. While I like Dr No if Skyfall lives up to its billing then I think it should be better.

Goes to show tastes differ, I consider YOLT and OHMSS to be two of the best. I do enjoy all Bond films except Quantum Of Solace, as I said, so I did enjoy Skyfall, but I just don't see what the fuss is about with it.

About Elly is one I was very annoyed to miss at the cinema, looking forward to the DVD release. I picked up a load of Grabbers DVDs from an Irish shop yesterday for Xmas presents - but if my cinema is one of those that gets it at the end of the month I'll be going again. Undecided on Life of Pi - I don't like the book, the trailer didn't inspire. Alps has a great performance but I don't think quite works, although there are some pretty effective bits and it does leave you with a lot of questions. Seven Psychopaths is great but I think in some reviews is getting a hammering for not being In Bruges (it's annoying as I was bored at my mums and read the idiot in the Daily Record). Barbara didn't work for me but wasn't, for me, as poorly done as Yella. Hobbit - go tmy tickets. Berberian was very impressive - and decent Oscar list should have Toby Jones on it but the lack of him will demonstrate the severe limitations of the award (as always). I'll be getting Dredd to rewatch on DVD, which is a complement I think. Extreme sports type dude lead in Rise of the Guardians annoyed me although I think you can see some of Del Toro in one character but only a tinge, so I doubt he was that involved, as it isn't quite imaginative enough. The only Celeste film I'd recommend is Ernest and Celestine though - not on your list, but totally should be

Has Grabbers got a release date here yet? As you can probably guess, it's been on my 'to see list' for bloody ages now.

With Silver Linings Playbook & Sightseers, that's me now reached 100 for the year.

Still hoping to add You've Been Trumped, Even The Rain & a bunch of other stuff I've currently forgotten the name of before the year is out.

As we enter the final stretch...I still want to see Beasts of the Southern Wild (a film I think I might be in the minority of opinion), A Royal Affair (got on BR), Tabu, About Elly, Dredd, Holy Motors, Once Upon A Time In Anatolia (Blu Ray), Rise of the Guardians, Talaash, My Father's Bike, Seven Psychopaths, Celeste and Jesse Forever, The Hobbit, Life of Pi, Grabbers and Safety Not Guaranteed. Oh and Alps, Barbara, Aurora, Nostalgia for the Light, Berberian Sound Studio and Headhunters.

Ernest and Celestine looks lovely so I will be on the look out for that. Grabbers should be showing near me at the end of the month, Christmas day I think. I wasn’t a big fan of the book but I enjoyed it at the time, if that makes any sense. I find Lee academically interesting in that I am usually curious to see what he has got each time. Alps is one I am looking forward to and Psychopaths still makes me laugh despite having seen the trailer numerous times.

Barbara looks like something I would like. I’m hoping to see The Hobbit on the 14th but with a young baby, a family gathering and a bunch of Tolkien nuts, looks to be a shift cinema run.

Berberian is the one I really want to see, have done for most of the year but it wasn’t about in the cinema long enough. Dredd I’m hoping for something more than snore fest, indistinguishable females Total Recall. Guardians is one I want to take my nephew to see.

Cheers for the extra info.

It's going to be on at selected cinemas at the end of the month and will also be out on DVD at the same time. It was released on DVD in Ireland yesterday (and Tower Records Dublin will sell online to the UK).

If you don't object to watching it on a PC I think Berberian is still on Curzon on Demand, possibly. I enjoyed Dredd. Didn't outstay it's welcome, hit the notes well enough - unexpected.

Hobbit - was to the 13th but my husband couldn't get the day off. I'm kind of tempted to go anyway then go again with him the next day

My year has been so bad for new releases. The end of being a student, moving back home (where the local cinema is ghastly) mean I really haven't chalked up many cinema visits, whilst I seem to hav barely caught up with anything on DVD yet. That said, I'm still pretty happy with the top 10 - I think I've see 10 films that would likely be very close to top 10 contenders even if I'd seen 100 films. So far, my list looks like this:

1.The Dark Knight Rises
2. The Descendants
3. Avengers Assemble
4. Skyfall
5. The Master
6. Argo
7. 21 Jump Street
8. You've Been Trumped
9. Lawless
10. Cabin in the Woods
11. Magic Mike
12. The Muppets
13. Chronicle
14. The Hunger Games
15. Ted
16. The Amazing Spider-man
17. War Horse
18. J. Edgar

Obviously have many to catch up with!
