Slightly Off Topic, someone texted me a quiz question today, it took me ages to get it.

What's next in the sequence - Young George Michael...........?

I don't know but I certainly wouldn't want to Google it at work.

Yeah, well done. It had me stumped this morning. I was going through all the Arsenal managers (and Leeds and Tottenham) then Leicester City midfielders, then finally clicked and spent 10 minutes singing the song to myself

yes chief, googling "Young George Michael" is not really an option

JIm, just thank God it's them, instead of you...

And if you Google Young George Michael you get lots of Arrested Development pictures.

Had our monthly pub quiz tonight and we didn't do too well finishing 5th but anyway...a friend also has a team and their team name is Good Morning, I'm Alice Bhandukravi. For those who don't live in London, she does the local news on BBC...well my friend tweeted her at the beginning of the year to tell her that they'd named the team after her and she was really nice about it and has always asked how they got on etc. Well tonight she turned up as part of their team! I thought he was taking the piss when he said she was coming a few weeks ago...lovely lady and damn hot too!

I go to the university's weekly pub quiz with swords and our friends, Last year we won £100 in cash and spent it all on pizza and beer. Best night ever. Our current team name is [insert rotating gag here]: The Musical.

We also frequent the Cameo cinema's regular quiz, although I've missed a couple weeks due to work. Quizzes, film and theological discussions are essentially the backbone of our friendship.

not so much now, but used to go regular enough as a student. Prize was often 24 cans of beer or bottles of wine, and we won fairly regularly, so that was good. I won a Fifteen to One style contest one night, which was actually pretty nerve-wracking when it went to final three. Best time was when we discovered one guy ran the same quiz in two different bars on successive nights. So we'd go to both and if we didn't win the first night, we cleaned up teh second night!

I run 2 pub quizzes in Newcastle. The prizes are usually just food n drink, occaisionally theres other prizes like gig tickets.

We dont have much of a prob with cheats as its not for cash. We just dont allow mobile phones out during questions, if people are sad enough to go to toilet to check then they need to get a life.

We usually have people putting jokes as team names, its never the most PC or straight laced of quizzes. Common pun names are Quiz Eubank, Quiz on my tits etc.

Most popular rounds have been porn or not porn and club singer.

I was part of an epic Quiz Team before leaving for Australia, my absence meant another member dropped out and some substitutes were brought in and the team fell off a little. However tonight for the first time in almost two years the original team are getting back together, the Avengers have bugger all on us. Iíve found though that some people are seriously mental and have what appears an unhealthy determination to win a Pub QuizÖI go because I like my fellow team mates, drinking, snacks and a laugh. Mobile Phones arenít allowed.

Is it still funny to call your pub quiz team any of the following:

Crouching Woman, Hidden Cucumber
Fact Hunt
Ken Dodd's Dad's Dog's Dead

?

Last pub quiz I went to was last christmas. My team were guessing, while other teams were googling the questions on their phones. My team came second to last, we won a mars bar.

Going back to quiz team names, the ones we've had include:

Quiz in my Pants
1987 World Champions of Dwarf Tossing
No Balls please, we're pakistani (this was around the time of the pakistani team getting caught ball-tampering)
Gin'll fix it

and my favourite...................

a giant drawing of a cock (please note that there was a prize for the rudest team name - we won)

I run a weekly quiz in my local and people that use their phones always get found out. I just get brutal with their scoring.
The last quiz I took part in (which our team of 3 won against numerous huge teams ) yielded maybe my proudest moment: the team name,
Quizlamic Fundamentalists.
