The Sting - the final "twist" is never quite the same after the first time. Still good though

Probably Inception too.

So many. The first POTC, the Star Wars trilogy, LOTR, Back to the Future, Good Will Hunting, Pulp Fiction, Casino Royale...

I'm going to stop now, or else I'm going to end up naming every film I've ever loved or even just found surprisingly good!

If I erased a film to rewatch it I probably wouldn't get around to rewatching it, and the film would remain unseen.

Definately Jaws. Ive seen it on the cinema before but would love to have been in a packed cinema when it was first released and share all those jump moments with a crowd.

The 3 stand out films I saw at the cinema were Aliens, Pulp Fiction and The Matrix. Packed cinemas and no-one knew what to expect (certainly with The Matrix anyway - it's no exagerration when I say the whole audience went "what the fuck?" when Trinity lifted off) You left the cinema best mates with everyone else who had been in there. I'd love to repeat that feeling again. I'm not even talking about my favourite films, just unexpected event films you share with so many others.

Seven - still the most devastating, brilliantly unexpected ending I've ever seen.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, first time I watched [spoiler for OFOCN] someone had to explain to me that Nicholson had been labotomised so it didn't have that emotional impact

Hairspray.

Not because it's a good film that demands a rewatch, but because John Travolta in drag is one of the most horrifying images I have ever seen and it still haunts me to this day.

Fight Club and American Psycho are two that spring to mind.  Both are films I saw at the cinema which, while I knew had good reviews, offered a lot more than I expected  - especially as I was unfamiliar with either of the original novels (didn't even know Fight Club was an adaption at the time).

Fight Club was far deeper, complex and funny than I expected.  With American Psycho it more the level of humour that surprised me I think - I laughed a lot more than I expected to.

It's hard to answer because the movies I really like tend to be ones I've appreciated more and more when rewatching. I guess seeing The Shining again for teh first time would be cool.

There are plenty I would be very happy to erase from my memory. Not to rewatch them, just to have them erased. If I could have the time I wasted watching them back too that would be a bonus.

I appreciate a film more on repeat viewings, I'm a total pain in the arse with films and love quoting lines before the character has.

Dead man's shoes is bloody brilliant. Paddy Considine's performance is incredible.

As for wiping a film so I could re-watch it, I'd go for two Hitchcock's with killer twists, Psycho and Vertigo.

With you there Jim...

Also: The Usual Suspects, The Departed, Goodfellas, Rocky Balboa, and not a movie but the bit in Only Fools and Horses where Del Boy falls through the bar.

For me, the films I would want to see for a first time again would be the ones that really got me into cinema:

Pulp Fiction
Yojimbo
Casablanca
Bonnie and Clyde
Blade Runner
and
Aguirre: The Wrath of God

I'd agree with Jonson, if there was one movie that I'd love to go to a cinema and know nothing about, just sit in front of a big screen in the dark and enjoy........it would be Jaws.

Also Star Wars.
My dad took me to see it on its original release, believe me, even as a young nipper, as soon as that title sequence came up for the very first time, you just knew you were in for something special.
Happy days.

I would have to say The Matrix and. I remember coming out the cinema wanting to 'fly' like Trinity. I also have to say my fav film of all time The Exorcist! This is the one movie i could watch time and time again and the overall effect is still strong, however i would still ove to get back the butterfly and excitment seeing it for the first time ever!
