Oh give it up! He got lucky with the first one but has proven himself to be the worst person for the job since.

I imagne Spielberg had a lot more input in the first than in the sequels. Hard to imagine the 'Berg oking the soft porn of the sequels.

On a related note, I watched the third at the weekend and actually found it to be worse than the 2nd. I didn't think it was possible, but bravo.

Blimey the time Malik would get round to finishing they're probably would be Robots that could turn into cars & aircraft.

These films are pretty much critic proof though, aren't they?  I haven't seen the two sequels admittedly, but they seemed to get attrocious reviews, yet increasingly gross more money to the point where the third film makes over $1.1billion worldwide and becomes the 5th biggest money-maker of all time (admittedly not that special an achievement in the age of inflated 3D ticket prices).  As long as they keep making money, the studio has no reason not to chuck cash at Bay to make more and more.

There's obviosuly an audience for them - people with any cinematic sensibilities about them appear to hate them but, like with the Twilight films, I see tonnes of idiots (well, at the very least, common "Joe Bloggs" types) on Facebook raving about how they've just been to see the new Transformers film and how awesome it was.

The film would probably be just Transformers running through long grass at sunset for three hours

SPECIAL EFFECT BOREDOM! Last one was horrific to suffer through - I even told people to skip it if possible. Shame really, since I had hope that Lenard Nemoy would have lent some creed to the Film, but I think even having his voice used - was a waste of talent.

We all know it looks great to see the flip-action of the cars into robots and mechanical monstrosities - but it has not evolved more than just simple commercial breaks. Once you have seen it - there has to be more to it, and none of the Transformers have provided it.. Some good promos/clips - but the actual films? Embarrassed parents, guy with both girls he would never in a million years get.

Is it also going to happen to Robopocalypse?
