ITV threw some immense talent at this series and pulled out all the stops production wise. It also has Oscar Winning Julian Fellowes as its writer and creator. This is a world he is very familiar with as he grew up in that world but what has the show to say exactly? Is it really that different to Upstairs Downstairs? I'm sure the point of the show is to show these contrasting worlds, that of the privileged and that of the below stairs staff but who cares really!? Not being sexist but I'm sure the show has more female viewers because it does have that soap opera quality to it but on a grander scale. The characters and story didn't compell me to want to keep watching.
