That's pretty much all I've got to say about that!

It's for the best. It would need an Avatar-esque budget, and that's a Heaven's Gate-style risk. Cameron might have made it work (twice at that), but expecting someone else to do so is insane at best. Add in it being a video game movie...

theres actually an article in PC gamer that says the opposite. but i suppose ill put the link here to save empire doing the work eh? http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/15/ken-levine-says-bioshock-movie-could-still-happen/

still, if it doesnt see the light of day im glad its down to Levine guarding his creation from idiot film directors, as Gore couldnt direct himself out of a paper bag. Frankly im dissapointed as i love Bioshock. such a shame, but i guess theres more of a market for dumbed down movies like bridesmaids than there is for higher thinking Ayn Rand ideals. does anyone remember Serenity?... it suffered from a chronic attack of the idiot cinema going public watching hairspray instead.

rant over.

I'm always a little apprehensive about game-to-film adaptations, but I was rather looking forward to a Bioshock movie (especially when Verbinski was attached to direct). Although I'm slightly disappointed that it's not going ahead, I am extremely happy that, because they have "no desire to do it", they've actually decided not to do it, rather than the studios going ahead with it anyway just to make money. Basically what I'm saying is, I'd rather no film than a crap one.

Both dissappointed it will not be made yet and happy that it is so, becouse the writers may have changed too much that fans would'nt recognise it from the game they played, look at how much they changed Resident Evil from game to screen, adding new charators who were not in the game.

A bioshock origin story movie wouldve been good. Not sure about verbinski but del toro wouldve realky done something memorable i think
