I find it very hard to understand why anyone employs this man...or even puts up with him for any length of time. And then he knocks me sideways with brillant performances in Kick-Ass and Bad Leiutenant (I don't agree with Empire's 5 stars but it's a great film mainly because of his performance) and somehow I gain a little repsect for the man...however temporary it may be. Back to the point in hand however, I don't think there is another A-List star who has been so repeatedly let down by appalling promotional material...even if the films aren't so good. You need a far longer list than 10. Having just had a quick look through an archive of all his posters, they are (apart from Lord Of War, with the face of bullets) unrelentingly shit.

With that poster, "Family Man" looks like the most un-"hilarious" film you'll ever see.

Surely Bangkok Dangerous is going to go down in the record books for it's poster alone? How else would such a Steven Segal-type film ever become so recognised? I haven't, and won't ever watch it but yet it will somehow stay with me forever thanks to the evil genius that created such an abomination of a poster!

Posters don't really matter. (Although I realise this article was written for its 'comedy' factor).

If I chose to see films based on posters; I doubt I'd see many. When I think of some of my favourite films the posters are either run-of-the-mill, by-the-numbers, chiche and/or utterly uninteresting.

I have more of an issue with trailers. I've gone out of my way to avoid watching trailers for any movies I'd like to see... and you know what? I'm genuinely enjoying films more now than I did when I allowed trailers to spoil the films for me. Of course, avoiding them doesn't improve bad movies, but for half decent- or better-films I'm convinced it makes a massive difference. Try it!

The female lead in Valley Girl is Deborah Foreman, not that you'd recognise her from that disaster of a poster.

If you're having trouble picturing her, she also the girl in "Real Genius" who turns down Val Kilmer with the killer line: "Can you hammer a six-inch spike through a board with your penis? A girl's gotta have her standards."

What is CJ from BBC2's quiz show 'Eggheads' doing in the Bangkok Dangerous poster? Surely if Nick Cage is in your film you put him on the poster not a teatime trivia expert?

Gotta love that the tagline for Bangkok Dangerous is 'it's all in the execution' and theirs is shoddy beyond belief
