Dare I suggest Paul Giamatti - sounds perfect for him!

I saw a preview of the Descendants in Boston on Monday night and I was more than a little disappointed. Clooney carries the film for sure, looking old and ragged as he toils with his young daughters, but I couldn't help but feel that the film had been rather slapped together. It's main issue is that it doesn't really know what it's trying to be, sometimes tragic, sometimes funny, sometimes touching but not enough of either component to make you really care for the characters. Will be interested to see how Empire review this when it hits Europe, I am hoping the words "Payne" and "Clooney" don't automatically signify a 5 star movie. Shailene Woodley blew me away, and was probably the most complete and most fleshed out character of the piece, she will be huge in years to come, with acting chops and looks to boot.

and it's my favourite film of the year. I was in emotional bits by the end.
