Decent enough yarn about the theory that the real Bard who penned those 'Shakespeare' works was the Earl of Oxford, Edward DeVere, who on account of his status couldn't expose himself as writer and let his stooge Will Shakspeare take the credit. This supposition has been theorised throughout the ages and is nothing new, and it was pretty good, though went off quite a tangent towards the end for dramatic license I suppose. Rhys Ifans as always was excellent and Rafe Spall as Shakspeare was a hoot.

Brilliant comedy-drama on class and morality with a superb central performance from the great Charles Laughton.

It may be a tad uneven and definitely over-long, but goddamn I knew walking into this Jason Segal, Emily Blunt and Alison Brie would be so charming that I'd blatantly love this film. What I didn't expect is that nearly every cast member would be charming, and the aformentioned duo of Blunt and Brie... well...

I completely agree with this. It as good a modern romcom as you are likely to see. Blunt is one of my favourite actresses right now and Brie should have bright future too if there is any justice!

 The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2009 original)

Heard a lot about this and felt it was pretty good the way the two leads uncovered the facts about a disappearance 40 years earlier. It was well worked and acted throughout, though it was a bit long, some scenes didn't need to be in there I felt. Enjoyable enough though.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Dont need to say too much about this as we all know about Toy Story. Had seen the other two and so had to watch the latest entry. Funny, sad and well made with a good cast and script, good entertainment for all the family.

Much more like it from Hitchcock, this is a fantastic film, full of wit, great twists and shocks throughout, and fantastically shot. Great stuff, enjoyed every minute of it!!

Fright Night (2011)

Saw it when it was out in cinemas last year and I really liked it. Decided to give it another go (almost exactly a year since it came out), and I still like it. Every bit as good as the original. The cast are uniformly great (Farrell in particular is really good as the insidious vamp), and it's funny, bloody and just a whole lot of fun. 4/5

Just a fantastic piece of cinema. The final half hour is a masterclass in disconcerting tension building, and when the infamous climax finally arrives it's as shocking as ever, even on repeat viewings. 5/5

I'm a sucker for a sports bio but this just felt like it missed a few notes. Brad Pitt is almost becoming a pardoy of himself. Yes, we know your "thing" is eating Brad, like De Niro's head tilt or Pacino's random shouting, but he was doing it in every other scene! Actually thought Hill was the star of the show but I didn't really care that much for anyone involved because they were all talking about being on salaries of $7m a year or similar and it's hard to be worried about whether or not someone succeeds or fails when they're earning hilarious amounts of money.
