Last night I saw The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne. Good performances from Maggie Smith and Bob Hoskins, but the overall the film was far too slow.

A Tale of Two Sisters - Very interesting and vell well done. I have little idea what the hell it was about though. I'm still pondering it at this very moment.

The last two films I saw were The Jacket (3/5) and Kingdom of Heaven (also 3/5) but the latter left me a little dissapointed seeing as the historical epic is my favourite kind of film. Could have been so much more

Just saw The Shawshank Redemption for the first time. Absolutely brilliant film and in my top 10 easily.

I saw a history of violence today & really enjoyed it. I haven't seen a cronenburg film in quite a while so wasnt sure what to expect but I thought it was a good film.

7 seconds: a flat actionthriller with an Wesley Snipes who has nothing better to do than playing in average thrillers these days. The film has two carchases which are bad copies from many others carchases (Bourne Identity, Taxi 2,....)

Just sat through the 2 hours of excruciating pain

that is The Chronicles Of Riddick. What made Riddick so good in Pitch Black was that he had very little to say, but in this one, every line festers with the smell of cheese.
I just hope to God that the third part it was left so open for NEVER gets made.

Saw 'Pride and Prejudice' on Friday night. Excellent film adaption, bit too liberal with the text sometimes. Fits wonderfully, from a historical pov, but occassionally tries to be 'Wuthering Heights'.

The scenery was just gorgeous. Matthew Macfadyen was an okay Mr Darcy. For some bizarre reason, he reminded me of Hugh Jackman (who would have been a magnificent Darcy... then again, so would a number of other actors, whom you've never heard of!

)

Still a very good film and will earn brownie points with female loved ones if they're into that kind of thing

I'd say 7/10

Into The Night - 80's cheese, with Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfeiffer and a suprise cameo by David Bowie. Enjoyable so-so movie, with some stand-out moments of scriptwriting, one involving a funny moment with Dan Akroyd. Insomniac Goldblum around from one bizarre situation to another, with Pfeiffer who is on the run from the mob. Plot involves something to with gems, but you probably won't care. Was under the influence when viewed, which probably made it more comical 3/5

Mean Creek - fantastic teen drama, with great performances from all involved. Won't describe the plot as not to give anything away. Highly recommended 4/5

In Good Company - suprising feel-good drama, with great performances from the three leads. Just a shame the astoundingly beautiful Scarlett Johansson doesn't get more screen time. 4/5

It joined my top 10 when I first saw it as well.

I saw Elektra and Control last night. Both enjoyable films that pass the very easily enough.

Watched the Shawshank Redemption last night and was blown away by it yet again. It's great to revisit films like that and remember why you loved them in the first place.

Also off to watch Dawn at the cinema this afternoon - and greatly looking forward to Night Watch when it's out.

Four Brothers : Entertaining in parts, but largely an excuse for swearing and gun violence. It tries a bit too hard to be 'street', but it does has some funny lines and acceptable acting.

Yesterday: Howl's Moving Castle - 3/5 - great visuals, but it's sprawling narrative seriously let it down

Today: Say Anything - 4/5 classic Cameron Crowe, sweet, funny and comes complete with one of the best lines ever "I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen"
Gremlins - 5/5 masterpiece. Shocking to see just how bloodthirsty the little shits are. Vicious, absolutly viscious!

Apollo 13

Ron Howard in well directed film shock. Strong performances from the ensemble cast and a sense of realism make this (a couple of mawkish fantasy moments aside) an exceptional telling of a story that would be unbelieveable were it not true.

Joint Security Area

As military set mysteries go this Korean effort is decent, the sotry is compelling, the action well handled and the performances decent. BUT as the first film from Park Chan Wook it constitutes a disappointment, lacking the brilliant twists and breathtaking style of Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and Oldboy.

I watched Land of the Dead today and very much enjoyed it! I'd give it 4/5. Some of the funniest and most inventive violence/gore I've seen in a while!

Watched Team America World Police, classic stuff! Very very funny! I loved the songs, especially the montage song, that was brilliant. It's the kind of silly humour I love! AMERICA......FUCK YEAH! I also loved lease: Everone has....AIDS!!!

I'm watching 'Million Dollar Baby' at the moment. Nice film but not a patch on 'Mystic River' which I absolutely loved. Can't see what all the Oscar fuss was about with this one.

Lately I seem to have a problem with watching a film all the way through. Just today, I have watched the first half hour of Chicken Run, the last half hour of Empire Strikes back, the first 45 minutes of Collateral and two minutes of Bad Boys.
