The possibility of four films nominated by Gimli? Be afraid, be very afraid.

Two of the three films I've put in the HOF so far are established classics of their type, and the third is hardly known for being bad. I might just defy your expectations and go for something universally acclaimed. Or Pearl Harbor.

As I understand it, you can nominate anything you like as long as it's an available feature-length film-Bonnie and Clyde should be absolutely fine.

It could be a short if someone wanted, but no one has been brave enough yet. Yeah Bonnie and Clyde is fine.

I kind of lied, I started thinking about Bonnie and Clyde and then I put it on, then I started watching, then I started writing, and I think I am happy with what I wrote for it. What should I do with it? I am new at this thing, please forgive my incompetence.

Seriously though, Gimli - I'm very intrigued as to what you'll put forward - there's got to be a Pixar, hasn't there? Oh, and clear your inbox - I have some HoF votes via PM to forward on to you.

I'll nominate Cars and have "Lusas doesn't do Pixar" as my review.

I've made space.

Don't worry about it. Blurbs don't have to be that long, or particularly indepth or analytical. Just a few hundred words on why you like it or why it should be in the HoF will be fine.

Is there a price limit, I have two films and I'd like to put one forward in particular, however the average price for a copy is 13...

I will also predict that much like Bigger Than Life none of my films will progress to the second round.

Guys, I have to films which I want to nominate and I want to see their validity for this HOF (they are both available on play .combut you know, just to check).

Can I just ask, as we're kind of on the topic, what's the price limit for a nominated film?

It's just with Christmas round the corner and all that...

Price limit - As long as it's available on rental then you're fine. Be it Lovefilm, Blockbuster, any other online rental agency. Most stuff generally is, or you can usually get a cheap dvd somehow. The only one I'd say to check on is if it's a Network dvd, because they don't allow rentals of their stuff usually. Price limit isn't usually an issue on R2 dvd, but if you have a concern, let us know the titles and we'll get back to you. Import dvd is the biggie when it comes to price. It's frustrating, because of how  much good stuff isn't available on R2, but we don't want to put people off by having really expensive R1 dvds that they have to import involved.

Other than that, it's rare we'd say something can't be nominated. Despite my teasing of Gimli, we wouldn't say something wasn't eligible because one of us didn't like it.

I'll be down for HOF 14. I have my blurb for The Hottie And The Nottie already written.

I just checked and we've had noms from Rebel, Imp', Matty and Jiraffe so far.

Imp', I just checked and your first choice is available on Lovefilm, so that shouldn't be a problem at all.

Dev', replied.

Prof', got your nom. I think that should be ok. The lovefilm link is watch through their site only, and they do get taken down sometimes. But there is a Youtube link for it as well, and the R1 dvd doesn't seem too expensive if it came to it, but Reb' and TRM are going to need to have a look at it as well and see what they think.

Thanks rawls. I took at look at the Youtube (well what I found, I'm no expert on using that) and thought the quality was pretty poor. I don't think we should assume everyone has a multiregion player, so just let me know Reb, rawl, TRM if I need to change my nom.

Just to add to the bit in bold, MoC dont allow theirs to be rented now either.

It was only a very recent change, and I can fully appreciate that for companies of that size it is a big headache with how little return they get, but it is a real shame.

I've never understood why a company like Network doesn't allow a staggered rental system, so that their latest releases get the benefit of increased sales without rental competition, but it also allows a trial system for older dvds.

I think you're probably better off with the other one, because the dvd seems to be silly money to buy on Amazon (some sellers want 50 for it) Play have it cheaper, but again only through Marketplace sellers, which means people might struggle to get hold of it.
