I think with MNS most who saw his first three or four movies would have thought that this is one of the most promising directors in Hollywood, and those who saw his last few would think that this guy doesn't have a clue. Somewhere in the middle might be more realistic.

Yeah I would agree with you EB, though I wasn't blown away by The Sixth Sense as many were, I really liked his next three, despite certain script deficiencies. Then something happened with this director....I don't know what...he just turned bad....though The Happening is a great fun bad movie good for a laugh!!

The only Shyamalan movie i really enjoyed was The Village. The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were boring. I fast forwarded through the last half hour of Signs (some i NEVER do) as i was so bored. Haven't seen lady in the Water, The Happening was terrible. I actually enjoyed The Last Airbender due to its production design and FX but yes it's bad and After Earth is bad.

Well it's clear form this that opinion is divided on MNS. Some people think he's not very good. And some people think he's okay.

I enjoyed The Sixth Sense and I liked the ending of the Village but the rest of his work has not been great.

I do have a fondness for those two films.
I dont think he's a bad director but he is one who has clearly lost his way.

Nick Love is a pretty tasteless and talentless Director.

Agreed.
He is to Guy Ritchie what Peter Andre is to Neil Young.
