Yes, is exactly the same issue for me. Have subscribed but it doesn't seem to recognise that I have, still offering me the Subscribe and Buy buttons. Also have the 'restore purchases failed' issue too.

Same problem as everyone else. Subscribed for 6 months and no noticeable change/recognition of the subscription in the app. Recieved subscription confirmation email and receipt from Apple. Restoring purchases does nothing, not seeing the error messages some others are.

Yep, am having exactly the same 'user experience'; subscribed for 6 months and the app/newstand doesn't download the current issue. Have received confirmation email saying the funds have been paid and the subscription has started, but it doesn't say which issue - reasonable to assume the current issue, but it's still asking me to buy or subscribe.

I'm on it but getting answers from Adobe is very much a blood/stone situation. Not least of all because they're on bloody LA time.

Hi there!
Unfortunately I have the same problem. Bought a 6month subscription this morning and I am unable to download a single issue. The only option i get is either to buy or to subscribe (something that i already have don). Tried to delete the app and reinstalled it, still comes up with "restoring purchases failed". I have received a confirmation email from apple saying that I have successfully bought the subscription.
Have you got any clue on when this problem will be resolved?

Thanks,
Hariton.

Same issue as those above. When you go into the empire app in newsstand and click subscription it processes and then gives an error message about trying to update later. You then receive an email saying subscription was successfull, but the magazine never downloads.

It doesnt look as if the app ever tries to download the magazine.

If you click on restore purchased you get the error. "Restore Purchases Failed".

Dissapointed I cant read the mag now I've subscribed, hopefully you can get this all sorted out soon.

Exact the same problem I have.

I have been checking here since the app was updated for newsstand/subscriptions, and thus since I purchased a subscription. I'm disappointed at the lack of update since 2PM today on the current issue. I also have submitted an email to the only contact email address given for this app (empire@bauermedia.co.uk) and have as of yet received no reply or acknowledgement. Just in case it sees a response here, see below content of my mail:

"Hi,

I waited for this month's issue until Empire's app was updated for newsstand as it said it would be on the forums. However I have now purchased a subscription but am unable to download the latest issue. I got a message immediately on purchase that the subscription purchase was successful (i.e. you get my money) but that my library did not get updated (i.e. I do not get my magazine).

I have updated the library several times, reinstalled the app, even answered yes to restoring all my previous purchases (which failed).

I just want to read this month's issue before the next one is released. Especially given the I have now paid for it.

Regards"

I was wondering... Exactly how do I go about getting a refund?

I would say the best way to get a refund is through Apple at http://expresslane.apple.com . If the resolution to this relies on Adobe it could be some time coming.

It's fixed, it's fixed. A thousand apologies to all of you. Basically, Adobe needed us to provide them with a special serial number generated by Apple so that the subs would be recognized by the issue download server. Quite why they hadn't mentioned it before now is beyond me but there you have it. Anyway, they've now integrated the number so all of you should be good to go! Any further problems please let me know, either on here or via e-mail.

James

Hi James,

Any news on when print subscribers will be able to download the ipad editions for free (and how will we go about doing that?)

Thanks

Regarding mag subscribers, the IT bods are estimating 3-4 weeks at this point.

Great, I'm now able to download the latest issue :)

Now, how do I enable background downloading. Shouldn't it just work?

No, I'm afraid not. The screen is far too small and the Adobe reader isn't compatible.

Thats a shame as other competitor magazines are available and the reading works fine on the smaller screen.

I hope it is something you would consider.

It's not down to us, unfortunatley. None of the mags that use the Adobe reader are able to publish on the iPhone.

Hello James, just wondering if there's any news on print subscribers being able to get the iPad edition for free? I only ask as we're at the 3-4 week timespan you mentioned in one of your previous posts. Loving the latest Bane-themed mag btw.

I am guessing, since James has gone quiet and since a 3.99 for years sub has appeared, that Bauer have problems with their database still. That and the management of the iPhone app doesn't augur well.....

Having drawn the 3.99 option to Bauer'scattention, it's now been withdrawn.

Sorry, forgot to post in here. The 3.99 was a monly subscription (it just auto purchases individual issues this month) but it said 1 year above it. Anyone who bought it (I think there was only 1) will just have the monthly sub. We're resubmitting the app to make the 1 year one appear properly!
