Sorry guys, UK rating is 12A, original rating was only a 15 anyway, so still not the adult 18 we all want. Studios never learn.

 Doesn’t this open tomorrow? I’m assuming the fact that no (remotely credible) reviews have surfaced means it was under strict embargo… which I assume means it’s absolute bobbins!
 
Mind you, after the last one with Justin Shlong that won’t exactly come as a surprise!

Oh dear. Going by that review it's full of the usual shakycam/ hyperfast cutting shit that has infested modern action cinema. That and the 12A, I really don't think I'l bother seeing this now!

Rather depressing by the sounds of it, guess I have been warned

On another note, don't get why they are not using MEW more as his daughter. not only is she very fit, but has proven in other films to be an engaging screen presence. If they are to keep things moving it seems more fresh blood like that is needed.

Rotten Tomatoes annoys me.

I really don't give a flying fcuk what the score is for movies on it. I make up my own mind, thank you very much. And I am sure there are tons of movies I love that others think are rubbish and vice versa.

Ok so Die Hard 5 (can't be bothered to type it all out, though now I have typed out this which is longer!) might not be as good as Die Hard, but then again, what is?

I will go to see it and enjoy it for what it is. Suspension of disbelief. Entertainment.

As I said I will refrain from further negativity until I see for myself which will be without doubt this weekend. I love the first 4 films and like every other fan will be disappointed if this one has dropped the ball.

I posted my thoughts on the Film Review thread, but I do have to say I am gutted.

A quick summary:

Plot holes you could drive Argyle's limo through.

A son in no need of help/rescue.

No big plot to stop at the climax. I don't think "Let's kill some scumbags" counts as a satisfying Act III dénouement.

No memorable villain.

A lack of suspense as there is no way the outcome of this movie is ever in doubt, unlike previous Die Hards.

OTT action which is just too much for this franchise. There was one scene like it in Die Hard 4.0 (Bruce v the fighter jet) but that is just the starting point here.

Taking 'Die Hard' too literal in meaning.

Aaaaarrrggghhh! I am not taking this well! Why feck it up in number 5? If they had arsed up Die Harder then at least we could have just forgotten the rubbishy sequel and not counted it and just lapped up the classic original. But after making 4 decent movies to throw its legacy away with this. Oh dear.

 Die Hard 6 (Title TBC) - Terrorists take over a hospital some rich/powerful guy/relation of some rich/powerful guy is undergoing treatment ... but guess who happens to be struggling with the remote of his hospital bed in the cancer ward? You guessed it, John McClane.

I think if they insist on making a sixth then this is the way to go. Back to the tried and tested formula, get a good writer and John McTiernan back in the director's chair
