Don't remember it being shown on Saturday mornings? Russell would be perfect for the Dobbin role.
Words like 'churn' and 'franchise' and 'Ben Stiller' are what made me stop going to the cinema.

Was not shown at weekends. Obviously written by someone who has never watched it before.

After decades of living in a psychedelic dungeon with only a teddy bear for company, Pob is liberated from his abusive family and is assigned a carer by the local council and must rehabilitate to normal, British society. But in a world where the edges of morality are blurred, can Pob really find the right way? Is there even a right way? And will Teddy ever be dry again? Directed by Shane Meadows.

This has to be the most bizarre franchise attempt - did they even show this in the US?

Wasn't Metal Mickey from the same people or have I just muddled my memories? Was it a spin off with cross-over episodes?

'The Frighteners' anyone? I wouldn't say Rentaghost was cult, isn't that a euphemism for a bit shite, which it was. Unfortunately you can see the join-the-dots approach to this, I like Ben Stiller but he's got an achilles' heel for shit british exports like Brand, Gervais, Merchant. So this'll probably end up with Ricky Gervais, Bill Nighy, and probably Karl fucking Pilkington "ooh isn't he hilarious he says what he sees?" No.

Beg to differ, Shamrat. I distinctly remember watching it on the 8:15 from Manchester. Re-runs, granted, but still on a weekend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8:15_from_Manchester

I personally think 'Playdays' is ripe for the big screen as a gritty, multi narrative, ensemble piece.
