Maybe you lot can help... Is there an agreed way of writing ginger as it is properly said? That is to say with a "gih" rather than "gee" for the first letter and "ing" sound - as in "Ming the merciless" - in the middle with an "er" - as in 'er indoors - on the end. Ginger - like the somersault the gymnasts do on the high bar. "Ging'er"? Ginger is quite tasty as a foodstuff. Seems a shame to tarnish it by association.
