I did this in my early 20's, died my hair blonde. Looking back at pics now, being of fair skin I looked bloody awful (not back then as I looked awesome and hot). Now I love being a ginger

 To be honest, when pink is more socially acceptable as a hair colour, then I would say that the ginger camp needs a rethink. Pink hair has traditionally been strictly the preserve of mental patients and twelve-year-old girls trying to look like mental patients.

Is there an agreed way of writing ginger as it is properly said? That is to say with a "gih" rather than "gee" for the first letter and "ing" sound - as in "Ming the merciless" - in the middle with an "er" - as in 'er indoors - on the end.

Ginger - like the somersault the gymnasts do on the high bar.

"Ging'er"?

Ginger is quite tasty as a foodstuff. Seems a shame to tarnish it by association.
