ORIGINAL: Funkyrae I don't have any argument about it. I'm in agreement with you, whatever floats your boat. I just think that there's a saddening glut of mass produced morons who rely on autotune and know how to sell a song because they can do a backflip rather than write a decent set of lyrics. Just taking Sheeran into usage for the time being, he's worked for years in small venues building up a following. He's learned his craft and while he may not be to everyone's taste there's no denying he's talented. He's worked hard to get to where he is and deserves the recognition that goes with that hard work. I don't see how the same can be said for someone with a sob story, that can barely carry a tune without help and wouldn't have the faintest idea of how to write a song if their life depended on it. Essentially a nice sentiment, and I largely agree, except with the last bit - if the tuneless one with a sob story sings on a great pop record, all the other stuff becomes irrelevant basically.
