Yes Boaby, shame about the film, greta poster though.
Most of the above are all OK, more a list of people's favourite fim than the best posters, some of them are pretty dull in my opinion (Superman, BTTF2, LOTR, Spidey 3, Paycheck, Bandits wtf!!)
Obviously I love the Jaws 2 Sunset poster, in fact I have a framed original copy at home (and the Spanish sunset one as well )

Anyway, some of my favourite:-







And a few others - Hellraiser, Aliens, Jaws. I do like simplicity.

 The Reservoir Dogs poster was a work of genius. I've still got the battered, creased and torn one (free with Select magazine, February '93) that adorned my bedroom wall as a teenager. Marvellous times, etc.

If you were to care to look at the thread title, the OP was asking for people's FAVOURITE FILM POSTERS, not the best posters around.

 Hang about, are we saying this is a thread for the posting of posters from out favourite films? Or is it a thread celebrating movie posters that are quality, that we like, regardless of the films quality and our enjoyment of said film?

Because either way, I'm confused as can be by Bloke from Oz's choices. If it's good posters regardless of the film, then why the hell have you chosen posters from Bandit's and The Family Guy, because those are two of the most boring generic posters I've ever seen. If you chose them because they are the posters to your favourite films, why the hell have you chosen Bandits and The Family Guy, because those are two of the most boring generic films I've ever seen.*







*even though I do actually consider them both guilty pleasures for various reasons

 This is a good thread idea; I was thinking of starting a similar one but this is good enough. Being a bit of a collector, I have quite a selection of original 'one sheets', 'quads' and promo posters. The thing is, of late, film posters have just become... well, a bit crap. Remember THE MIST? Thomas Jane's character David Drayton is a poster artist and he mentions the fact that the studios can just 'knock up' a poster on foto-shop in an afternoon, "Two big heads..." and that pretty much sums up the laziness of film posters and how they are presented to us by studios these days. Gone are the days of beautiful art by the likes of John Alvin, Richard Amsel, Graham Humphreys and of course, the mighty Drew Struzan. No offence to Bloke from Oz but that 'Harry Potter' poster image you posted is just dull. Now, look at the Struzan version -
 


I'm not a fan of the film but that is a damn fine piece of art!

 
 
 

 
Yes, I know that many of the old masters are either retired or passed on but that doesn't mean that passionate film-makers cannot get off their backsides and commision artists to create some unique images to promote their films. I HATE it when classic films are released on dvd / blu-ray and have some ugly reprinted photo/still for the front cover - JUST GIVE US THE ORIGINAL SODDING FILM POSTER!!!
