Send in Batman.

[EDIT]

Actually I think if we sent in a huge naked bald man with a Dr Robotnik moustache, a superman cape and boots, and a Batman logo carved into his bare chest, that would really freak people out and send them home.

People in Clapham Junction are being told to evacuate apparently, I presume that means evacuating from their homes.

Yes they are knocking on doors and telling people to leave. Scary.

I just heard that they looted a Fancy Dress shop and nicked lots of masks. They then set it on fire and police are evacuating the area as there are loads of helium cannisters in the shop.

Areas of poverty around the country, disproportionate distribution of wealth, no jobs, isolated communities, Westminster not giving a fuck about the rest of the country, it's what happen when the conservatives get into power, it's 1981 all over again, it's not great surprise.

No surprise at all if you want to bring politics into it.

I can also see similarities with 1981. A bankrupt country caused by years of irresponsible overspending by the previous government. A more fiscally responsible government comes in and when all the spoilt people have to start working for a change they decide to riot and loot instead as they don't want to work to pay for a new TV or tracksuit.

Right, because the riots of '81 were all to do with spoilt black kids from Brixton who wanted new trainers and had nothing to do with poverty and institutional police racism. I see you've swallowed too much tory bs.

How long do you think it will take before Cameron blames Gordon Brown for all this?

Looks like one of my favourite music venues, The Electric Ballroom in Camden, has been attacked.

Well, you can't blame them. Until three hours ago he wasn't even planning on being in the country to deal with this situation.

What can he do here that he couldn't do elsewhere? Nothing.

Can anyone explain how all the tensions and conditions that have led to the rioting has all developed from nothing in just 1 year? This has been bubbling under for years. People just like to take any situation and use it to attack the government and it's getting pretty boring.

Police station on fire in Birmingham

Rumours of trouble in Liverpool (just reported on Sky News) but have heard that might be down to a carcrash and cars on fire in Salford..............pretty much the usual there then.

Shit, I didn't want to say anything before because I thought it was just people trying to rile others up, but these photos are from LIVERPOOL!

Yeah, just heard it confirmed on the BBC. My sister's in Liverpool

[EDIT]

I know she'll be fine she's sensible enough to avoid the dangerous areas, but it won't stop me worrying.
